Just wondering if anyone would post a typical day on the lake .....how you start mid day and how you finish ... I know it changes with seasons so we will stay on a summer pattern.

Here is mine.

100 acre lake 35 miles south of Atlanta

I put the boat in at the dam 7 a.m.

1. Head for shallow coves throw Sammy's, Trick worm ,or Buzz bait

10 a.m. throw Jig or Ika, Senko around docks or stucture.

12 p.m. start throwing DD 22's in deep weed beds

2 p.m. Now I'm hot have only caught 2 fish in 4 hours

3 p.m. go home watch T.V.

4. 7 p.m. head back fishing docks and stucture

5. 8:30 tie on black Buzz bait and fish till I can't hold my eyes open.

If you have any input please add ....just thought this might help all of us that are trying to learn.

When I'm fishing smaller lakes like 50-100 acre this is what I usually end up with:

6am: Shallow coves and Beaver trails - Poppers, jitterbugs, and weightless Senko

8-11am: Switch to plastics ( T-rigged, wacky, weighted and weightless)

11am-2pm: Still throwing plastics but along with jigs and cranks, in deeper water - usually rigged with bullet wight or on jig head if throwing plastics, I fish dark colored jigs exploring cover and structure, and if I don't get anything after about 45 mins I switch to cranks.

I usually start again at six if I want to go back out

6pm-7pm - Jigs and plastics toward structure and cover

7pm on - Start with weightless senkos then switch to jitterbug or poppers

In low light I like "reaction" lures. These would include spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, jerkbaits, shallow running crankbaits and topwater. Recently I would include the GYCB Kreature fished like a swimming jig or spinnerbait.

During midday, I have had VERY good luck with soft plastics and recently, Mattlures Baby Bass.

Have a guy from BassResource.com at your house at O dark thirty.

Launch boat on Varner for a day of hanging the big ones with a new fishing friend.

Fish hard all day, miss some strikes.... never get a fish in the boat in 5 hrs. of hard fishing.

Met another high quality person from BassResource.com and hope to fish many more times with him, successfully this time.

Frank, great day on the water with you... can not wait to get down to your neck of the woods and you can show me around..... I just hope you are a better guide than I am  ;D ;D ;D

OK guys just if you need a Guide for Varner pay the $125.00 (Randall)  ;D

Ok that was a joke. Bishbear guided me around Varner a couple of weeks ago

Here our day on the lake.

4:30 wake up ok I didn't sleep it was like X-MAS (I WAS FISHING VARNER) for the first time.As I'm I'm leaving my girl friend says "call me as some as you get there , it scares me you are fishing with someone you met on the internet" forgot to call

5:00 am lost call John he reels me in.

5:30 find his house get out of the car he says "you don't look like the guy in the picture " . OK THAT IS NOT ME I JUST DON"T KNOW HOW TO PUT A REAL PICTURE UP THERE.

6:30 on the water , I use trick worn jonh throws spinnerbait

8:00 till 11:00 we through everything in the boat. 3 hit non boated , 7 hang up . But had a BLAST.

Ok to John's defence.

Tournament the day before 25.something win's with one catching 2 ten pounders. Cold front moved in rain, wind, no, more rain , drizzle, . the odds were not in our favor. We spoke to maybe ten people an only 2 fish caught. I spoke with Randall a couple of days later and he said he caught ten later that afternoon , but he's a FREAK!

John was a blast and I've made a new friend.

I throw a buzzbait and a popper at daylight and dark and a squarebill crank, 1/8oz shakey head on 6lb test....that is only shallow thing i have going.

Around 8am or earlier if topwater is dead. I move out to offshore structure. Putting a cheap fishfinder on my gheenoe has made all the difference in the world on small water.I like summertime fishing, really get to use my electronics on big water..... Rock piles, humps, stumps, docks in at least 10ft of water w/ deeper water very close. this has been working for me everywhere right now from 10 acres to 20,000 acres . get a bite or 2 an hour from 8am to 2pm, if there is no wind or current.  4-6ft is shallow right now for the fish i am catching. 9 out of 10 are bigger than what i have caught in the past.

If i am not on a dock pattern, this is what i have tied on:

-Deep little N , DT10, Bandit flatmaxx DR....

-football jigs at least 1/2oz and go bigger for deeper water .....

-T-rigged 7.5" and 10" worms.....

-1/4oz shakey head w/ trick worm......

Some days i will fish a dropshot on 10lb flourocarbon 12-15inch leader...cast it out and drag it in slowly....no shaking...periodically drop the rod tip so the bait goes weightless..especially when you feel a rock, stump or something...Other than daylight or dusk, I fish slow then i slowdown more.
