Flywatersmallie Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 So, at the local Walmart today picking up some odds and ends and of course had to roll by whats left of the fishing stuff. Well, The clearance stuff was a bounty of deals, at least this time. I picked up a few Manns Baby -1 cranks at .75 apiece, the last 3 packs of Senkos at a buck, Booyah baby boo jigs at .50, Super Flukes at .50 a pack and I bought perhaps more worm hooks that I will use in my life. A total of 80 packs of Gamakatsu (EWG from 1-5/0, skip gap from 2/0-5/0 and standard offset from 1-5/0) for..... Get this..... a dime a pack! Figured I would let everyone know that now might be the time to get to your local store and see whats out there. Also, Strike King Elite spinnerbaits were on sale for 4 for $3. I spent about $50 and came home with 2 large bags of tackle. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted October 10, 2008 Super User Posted October 10, 2008 i *** you. the walmart down here NEVER puts any fishing stuff on clearance. best deal i got from there was a 650 yrd spool of yozuri hybrid for 3.50. Quote
Big Matty L Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 BPS in st louis had that line on sale for 4 and change.. i picked up a couple spools of 12 Quote
BassinWill301 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Dave, our walmart sucks. The fishing section is so small, and they never have anything good on sale. It makes me angry at how inconsistent wal-marts are. One store has amazing deals, and the other has nothing. Quote
Super User fishinfiend Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 the walmart down here NEVER puts any fishing stuff on clearance. same here :'( Quote

JKay Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I was there yesterday looking for some foam practice golf balls to use as emergency scupper plugs for my buddies kayak. I strolled over to the fishing section and they were blowing out rods. Picked up a couple Berkley Lightning Rods as back up rods- (1) 6' Med/Heavy and (1) 6'6" Med/Light. $9 each!! Here's a couple rods that I don't feel bad about cramming into the hatch of my kayak. If they get broken, no big deal. Quote
SimonSays Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 amazing deals...need to run and check my local walmart now... Quote
Super User Muddy Posted October 11, 2008 Super User Posted October 11, 2008 The Wal Mart here in Hazleton seems to have given up on fishing, mostly small items and really horrible combos. However 12 miles away in Hometown they have a great section, you wouldn't believe it was the same cahin store! I picked up some Lazer Sharp Circle hooks and some extr Wide Gammy's for 2.00 a pack GOTTA LOVE THOSE RED LABELS Quote
Super User .dsaavedra.
