Osprey Swimbaits

Anyone out there use Osprey swimbaits?  My dad gave me a swimbait that he bought out at Lake Mead and never used it.  It looks like the Osprey swimbaits on ***, but im not sure if it is.  The one I have has three letters on the back of the tail, I cant remember the 3 letters right off hand (left it at home and im at school), but do yalls Osprey have this?

No not many people use the ospreys anymore. They were hot for a while but the fish learned quick not to eat them any more. I asume your bait is an SR plastics. Does it say SR7 or SR9 on the back. BTW if it does its a good bait and should be waked just barly under the surface. I make my own version(discontinued) and I get a lot of bites at night on it

Nah im pretty sure there is no numbers just 3 letters, wish i could remember what they are.

Well then it could be one of mine on the back of the tail mine had MATT going downward with the t's conected.  The only other one I could think of is a 3:16 but you said no letters. It wouldnt be an osprey because they say Osprey on the tail.

That's the Osprey Slow Roller if I'm not mistaken. Nice bait... definetely capable of drawing strikes. The only thing is due to the shape you will have a tendency to miss fish if you don't add a second hook farther back on the bait.

Would anybody happen to know the weight?  And how would I go about adding a hook farther down the bait?

Not sure on the weight. Really, there are 3 options for the stinger hook. Tie your second treble hook to HEAVY mono, braid, or attach it with sevenstrand wire. Then you tie or cinch it to the swivel that the first hook is attached to. Its hard to explain in words but basically run it back on a second line so that itis inline with the first hook but 1-1.5" farther back.
