It's really hot here in Florida and of course muggy. but I went out for a couple hours just before dark.

The good news was that the fish were in a bitin' mood.

Took a few pix.

Here's two. One is my typical fish head in the shadow. That was a 3 lber on a horney toad.

The other on is just the bass. Caught him on an H&T balsa2 weighed 5 lbs 8 oz.

One of these days I'm actually going to figure out a good place to prop up the camera phone so I can a decent photo for y'all.

But then again.  My photographic skills are sort of a BassResource.com legend, right?

It's hot up here in KY too. Only the fish have had lock jaw for me.

I'd suggest maybe investing in squirrel hunting gear but we'd never believe it was you ;D

Oh by the way, nice fish! ;)

LOL, You know I've actually started calling people squirrels.  It's funny.  They scurry around the lake and are all so busy and of course always nibbling on something.

Squirrels.

Perfect.

The problem isn't a lousy camera, it's short arms.

Yeah it was 95* here today and the bite was really slow. Hopfuly it will cool down a little later this week, becuase next week I start working and I wont have as many care free hours. :-/

I rather have it above 100 than below 40 though. Just be glad it isnt winter and there isnt 4ft a snow to shovel. ;)

It is really hot and humid here too. I hate the hot I would much rather fish with a wind chill of 10 like I did at Beech Lake in my Jr Club tournament in April than a 95 degree tournament I had at Reelfoot on Saturday. I can put on as many clothes as I want to stay warm but I can only strip down to so much to stay cool.

Its been 99+ here the last few days in richmond.  On the issue of taking pictures, someone needs to invent a really lightweight tripod, that attaches to your tacklebox, that way you can get yourself in the picture with the fish.

Its been hot everywhere i am pretty sure, 100% humidity and 92 this week in KC, nice fish, not sure about the weight of 5lbs 8 oz, looks awful skinny but nice fish at that

It got up to 96 today up here in central PA, though it was only about 100+ up in the barn. Most of my fishing right now is either wading and staying in the shade, or when the sun's down. Good thing is the heat has made the topwater bite for smallies a little better.

Excuse me????????????

You will notice the metal prongs in the lip.  That is a boga grip.  One of the few scales that IGFA will certify.

I have been around this forum waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long to have someone question me about the weight of a fish.

If I say it weighs 5lb.8oz's than you can bet it does.

Any idiot with a camera and the desire to do so can make a 3 lber look like an 8 lber.  it's all in the angles, the lenses, distance from the subject and a host of other technical tricks.

I will kid around alot, and I can take a joke as well as dish it out.

But you sir, are calling me a liar.

I can't ignore that, and expect an apology.

I'm going to jump in on this, even though it's sooooo none of my business. BUT...when I first read your post I thought the same thing, that bass doesn't look that big, but I didn't say anything because I'm certain you wouldn't lie about that.

It was only AFTER I read your most recent post that I realized the fish you are describing first, is actually the second one pictured...and the fish you are describing second is actually the first one pictured. So the fish I thought you said was over five, was actually the 3 pounder.

And the first picture? Well, it's just impossible to guess from just the head.

I only mention this because I spend a lot of time reading posts in the Central States section where basspro05 hangs out, and he seems like a very helpful member.

Of course I could be wrong about both of you...maybe basspro05 is a jerk, and maybe you're 6,000+ posts are just a clever ploy to trick us all into thinking a 3 pound bass is a 5 pounder...but I kinda doubt it.  ;)

Take care,

Dan

My mistake I didnt read the post very well, Daniel is right, I thought you were claiming the second picture to be a 5+lb fish, and i could tell by the comparision of your hand it wasn't. It was the way the post was constructed i thought the first description was of the first fish and the second of the 5lber, sorry Avid, just a misunderstanding, and FourBizzle I am a 20 year old bass fisherman from Kansas, and read a post wrong I am not a "hater", I just got stuck with a redneck education which leads to poor reading comprehension ;)

No harm, no foul. Just a misunderstanding...We're family...Let's move on.

Nice fish, but the pics....Well, I want to stay positive....They have a touch of "personal charm".   ::)

Apology accepted.

I completley understand.  I will sometimes read a post too quickly and get it all wrong.

The ability to recognize an error and be a stand up guy is more important than the size of any fish.

You seem like a young man worthy of respect.

Now, let's get this heat wave over with and all go fishing.

RW.  "personal charm" LOL what a great way to say that I am famous for taking the worst pictures on the forums.

Thanks to all.

Avid,  if you started taking "good" pictures it just wouldn't be the same.  Keep it up buddy!   ;)
