It's probably a bit misleading when I pop in every now and again with a 10 to 15 plus monster, but not tell you about my skunk trips in between :-)

I fished all day last Monday, and had 1 small tap on the Hud. As I reeled in, the fish continued to follow it up to the boat, but it was just a dink. That was it for 10 hours.

Went back Tuesday, and fished 10 more hours, and only had one nice 10 to 11 lb follower. That was it for Tuesday.

But guess what ? I'm not even the slightest bit deterred ! :-) We have had a real nice cool down in the weather (especially at my pond near the ocean... actually wearing long johns today :-)), and I have ALL the confidence in the world for the next 3 days :-) Fixin' to stick a pig ! Whooo Hooo ! :-)

Come on 19 plus !!! :-)

Please wish me luck.....

I think it is big of you to tell everyone about your skunks because we've all seen the amazing pictures of your hawgs, and they are truly hawgs in every sense of the word.  Maybe this will help a newer angler to deal with his or her frustration when they don't get a bite.

Thanks for the encouragment Chris.  What would the dink that nipped the bait weigh 7, 8 lbs. ;D

We all have seen and drueled over those hogs you bring in.  I know this isn't the "challenge board" but lets see what you can bring in with a med/lt spinning rod with 8 lb mono,  not braid......and no leader.....

Chris is an animal when it comes to fighting big fish on light gear, so even with "crap-o-filament", at the right time of year, I have no doubt that he could bring in a 12+ at will on that gear.

What is your biggest sturgeon on the ultra-lite fish? How about catfish on an ultra light?  ;)

A part of the artistry of a Master is his skills in choosing the right medium for his work and the proper tools to create his masterpiece. The warrior will not choose a knife for battle when a sword is an option, even when his skill with the knife would still carry the day.

OHHHHH so thats why he uses a 7' UL trout rod for 80+ inch sturgeon! the whole knife-sword-warrior thingy...... :P jk

It's a shame you won't catch squat!

Wrong bait for those conditions and that lake isn't a very good choice in ANY weather.

You can throw for the next 3 months but you're gonna zero.  Sorry bud, that's the way it is.

(I specialize in reverse psychology and I am assuming Fish is the kinda guy that likes to shut a loud mouth ;) )

Now everybody sit back and watch how this works,.....mark my words......

It's funny you said that about the cool down and long johns, cause as we were watching the Home Run erby last night, we saw people wearing jackets and long sleeves.  My wife was wondering where it was at due to the long clothes.

You got it young man!  ****** a few more over there on the left coast ;).

I too usually don't mention the 'skunk days' but neither do I fish for "10 hours". :o  Hardcore Basser for sure Chris.

Same here, Chris you have way more perseverance that I do, I can fish for 10 hours a day but not if I am getting a skunk put on me.   :o

It stands to reason that you get quite a few skunks or slow days, the type of fish he catches and posts on here don't come along in schools (unless your Randall fishing in Georgia  ;) ;D).

10 hours, we have a tourny this saturday that is 11 hours (8:00 pm - 7:00 am)  :P
