I recently had a great outing wading the rivanna river....me and a friend got on the 4 wheelers and rode through the woods to the river....we usuely wade either up or down stream for a couple hours so i know the area well and the holes and good fishin spots....well we got in the river and got to the first hole and i caught one nice 17 inch smallmouth and about 10 more smaller ones with some small bluegill and river chub mixed in....so i caught about 12 fish in the one hole!! as we moved on we were catchin smaller fish but alot of them....we waded for about 2 hrs and in that time i caught 35 smallmouth, 5 bluegill and 4 river chub.....so catching 44 fish in 2 hrs was a hole lot of fun!!! and to make it better with the competition with my buddy he only caught 10 fish...so i had to rub it in....wish i had some pics of the bigger 17b incher but i dont carry the camera with me in river....good luck to everyone on your next trip!!!

as a fellow river wader I have similar trouble with cameras but I just got a waterproof camera. It works pretty well and I love being able to record my catches now. They are pretty cheap as well. Once I finish the roll I'm going to get it developed and digitized.

Where is the Rivanna? It sounds familiar. What do river chub look like? I think I may have caught some on the Rappahannock here in VA a couple weeks ago but I'm not sure, I've never caught them before.
