After a big hail storm went through I hit the lake. Tried out megastrike on a jig for the first time and cought a 12"er as soon as my lure hit the water the first cast. Couple casts later, I got a 4lb 20"even bass. Quite nice for these parts. I was using a Black/red BPS 1/4 jig with the tail half of a Black/blue 10" powerworm as a trailer. I cast back in the same spot and see a very slight twitch in my line as my jig falls. I set the hook and all I felt was slack line, the bass had picked it up and ran at me. I cought up to her and she surfaced about 15ft out and I got a good look at her. I'm not good at weight guessing but I'm darn sure she was a new PB. A real sow. As soon as he went under he spit the hook and the jig came flinging back at me. :(

Towards the evening I tied on a homemade popper and got 4 hits but no hook ups. All in all it was a great day but I wish I got a good hookset on the big one.

Man, you really found the formula that day.

It's cool when you do something a little different and it works.

red/black jig with a bitten off azz end of a blue curly tail worm.

Now that's how a bass man "gits er done"

Great fish man! Always sucks to lose one, but it's always better to lose one then to never have had it in the first place (In my opinion).

Think the megastrike made a difference? Or just a good day? I've never been much into scents, but have been lately thinking about giving it a try..

I'm sure it didnt hurt anything. I'm going to use it more often. I'm guessing it makes them hold onto it longer, wich is great when fishing a jig.

GJ NEWB!

What does Mega Strike smell like?  Rotting fish, shad enzymes, ben-gay?  I might like to try it, depending on what it smells like.  I don't want to be fishing all day smelling like anchovie paste.  nasty..... :-?

Nice fish too!
