c17Lat Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I caught my biggest bass ever on a yellow bronzeye frog around some lilly pads. How much do you think it ways? I wish I had some better pics but I wanted to get it back in the water quick after it took mea a while to get the frog out of its throat. Quote
NEBassMan Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 it's sooooooooo hard to guess weights from pictures, but if i HAD to, i'd say around 6. Jason Quote
Crankin Fun Times Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I would agree anywhere between 5-6 pounds depending on how big your hads are. Nice fish! I busted out a mann's hollow body fish today but my biggest was only 2 lbs :-[ Quote
Crabcakes Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Nice job man. Here's my estimation: I'd give it 4.75-5 but only because its a bit skinny. Little earlier this year and that fish would have gone 5.5-6. That picture isn't straight on so it makes it look a little longer. Only a guess its nearly impossible to tell from pictures. I was out there today but only managed 5 small ones from shore. Didn't see you- I was there in the evening. It was very crowded when I was there. Nobody caught much besides me (saw one or two other fish landed). All of mine were on the inside edge. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted June 11, 2007 Super User Posted June 11, 2007 Nice fish no matter how much it weighed! Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 11, 2007 Super User Posted June 11, 2007 Weight doesn't matter, memories do Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Weight doesn't matter, memories do With this said, I would guess 4.5-5 right now as she is all spawned out. I bet that fish could go 6-7.5 with egg though. Great catch!! Quote
sandplanter Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 nothing harder than taking a pic alone. and u have to get it or its just a fish story. Quote

MDangler14, I got there about 6:30 AM, and caught 3 more nice ones, but had a bunch of misses on the frog. they're so fun to use but all the missed hookups get annoying sometimes. There were a few other small boats out there that were catchin em pretty good. i even saw two guys in a small boat almost land a GIANT pickerel. All i saw was its head but it looked like the head of a really huge pike. Quote
Crabcakes Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I wanted to get out there early but I had just been rockfishing all day on the bay the day before and was just too tired. Hopefully i'll run into you out there sometime. Quote

armesjr Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Has anyone figured out how to take a picture with a digital camera, which includes you and the fish when your fishing alone. I have tried sitting it on my tacklebox and using the timer on the camera, but that is nearly impossible to get a good picture. Quote
George Welcome Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Average egg weight adds to Bass: 10% of body weight - hence, if the Bass's norm is 5 pounds than egged up she would weigh 5.5 pounds. The average count of eggs is 4000 eggs per pound of fish. Quote
