WhiteMike1018 Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Well yesterday was a very interesting day. me and pops decided to go fishing. So we get to the lake its about 5:45am and I drop the trolling motor. ;D man im so excited and I cant wait to catch some bass. Than all of the sudden after a minute of speed trolling to our spot it dies!!!! > :-/ OH CRAP! So we tried to figure out if it was a short fuse or not and my dad said he mustve forgot to charge the batteries. Luckily on the back of our 14 foot john boat we have another trolling motor that had full batteries. But still I was so frsutrated that I ddint even want to fish. By the time we got to our spot after fiddling with the motor, it was too late for my gameplan: throw spinnerbaitsjust under the surface and an LC sammy to find some fish. The sun came up very quick and the fish just werent in the cove we hit. So I told pops to drive me back out to the main lake where I located some submerged timber on my graph last time we went there. My dad making the first cast caught a nice fish maybe 4 pounds. Than cast after cast we nailed them. I got a couple 2/12 -3 pounders and it was great. We were throwing YUM Ribbontail Worms in blue fleck in about 14 foot of water with submerged timber poking out at the top. We had a ball. We went from almost leaving out of frustration to smiling from the minute we caught the fish to the minute we left. The bass were in a typical post-spawn- pre summer pattern...it was deeper water with quick access to shallow water. Everyhting was perfect. Algae on the trees, baitfish around. I knew they would be there and we got em All in all good day at the lake.. Quote
