Ok, I'm from Florida... what the heck is a "brownie"?

This was my first native brown trout 24 inches .I caught it about 20 yrs ago in the mountains in NC in a stream you could jump across

he can't be talking about a smallmouth, 15lbs would be a new World Record. I think he means a trout or some other fish.

I think the kid caught a smallie and since it was his first bass he exagerated a bit.

Ironically I also caught a big "brownie" last night that went just over 10 lbs... but we call them carp down here.  ...lol  (true story, caught on a #7 shad rap, hooked inside the mouth!)
