I went out in between thunderstorms yesterday afternoon and got into some smallies. This one weighed in at 5.0 on the digital. Not bad considering the Belton lake record is just over 6. She had one jump that was about 4' high out of the water... what a memory!

Just left of the pic is the sportsman's club. (the floating building)  We were probably only 50 yards from the fish cleaning dock.  We were on the 2nd drop at the mouth of that cove.

Nice! I'd love to catch some big Smallmouth Bass. I just don't see any around here in central Florida. ;)

My absolute favorite fishing trip was to go to the Catskills in NY and wade or bank fish cold, rocky streams and rivers for smallies.  My second favorite was to jon boat the lakes with the huge rocky walls for smallies.

I miss it.
