Well it wasn't a picture perfect day, but it was darn close. After long wait for the Michigan bass season to open my wife and I finally got out to fish. It was about 60 degrees and sunny, but very windy, the water was very slightly stained. But the best thing is the boat didn't leak and the motor ran just fine. What a relief. (It's always and adventure when you run a 1968 boat and motor) My wife and I headed to the Mio Pond like we do for the first fishing trip of every year. And what seems to be another tradition , she caught the first fish of the year. On her third cast with a Bagley small Fry (bream) she had a nice smallie on and had him all the way to the boat and he came off. Two casts later she had one again. This one she handled very nicely and brought her first bass of the year to the boat. Probably about a pound and a half. How awesome is this, 6 weeks ago she gave birth to our first child and here she is back on the water showing me up. What a trooper.

I on the other hand got skunked. We were only out for an hour and a half because of our babysittter's time schedule but it was great to get out and even better to watch my wife catch a nice bass.
