Lightninrod Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I went to my former boss's smaller pond today just after noon; partly cloudy, light wind, sunny, and air temps in the mid 90s. I was throwing several(spinnerbait, topwater, , T-rigged GY Grub, and two identical(except for color and the rig they were on), new hard jerkbaits, Jackall's Squadminnow. No hits on anything as I fished from that tiny platform you see in the background until I threw the SM that was on my 7' Medium Kistler LTA Helium with its Daiwa TD-Z reel. I felt the lightest of 'tics', set the hook, and then the fun began. She ripped off some line, came up and jumped and that's when I knew she was a nice one. Two more jumps, drag slipping surges, and after a minute or two, I lipped her right next to the dock. I think she was the 6.5 lber I caught last January. She's the largest caught there so far. Caught a 2 lber and three other dinks; all on that one bait. It's a keeper. 7 lbs even Nice gut Sqadminnow Big mouth Two pounder Here's the review that caused me to buy that bait. Dan Quote
