The Unabasser Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Last Bass I caught was October of last year. Finally a change for the better in weather here in North North Central PA. I went out and got my license yesterday and promptly hit this large pond. It produced great last spring for me so I thought that would be the best place to get the fishing year in PA started for me. Temp was 65, water clarity was good even from the recent rains. I started with a Babybass Rattletrap and worked about a 50 yard section with no interest. Switched to Chartreuse Spinnerbait in the same area with no luck. Pulled out my cheap walmart imitation Bluegill deep diving crank and immediately landed this decent LM on the 2nd cast. I continued working this Crankbait in the same area and got many more hits and follows but couldn't land another. There was a patch of weeds about 10 feet from shore that the crank would get caught up in, when I would rip it thru the weeds they would follow it but then it was covered in grass and they wouldn't hit it. I switched to a White Chatterbait (homemade) and livened up the Pickeral, they were goin after it big time but couldn't get a hookup. Anyhow a quality afternoon on the bank and it can only get better as the water warms. Thanks for readin. Quote
Lightninrod Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Well done young man! A pair of Mustad's Triple Grip trebles might help with the cr/bait hooking . Dan Quote
