No fat chicks though ;)

Had a great day yesterday. My boss gave me a day off with pay, which never happens, so I thought i would take full advantage.

Went with the girlfriend. Had a blast. I swimbaited most of the day and as is typical here had at least 50 fish of ALL sizes follow my bait to the boat. Biggest was only 8 or 9.  I did manage to sucker this fish into eating it when I saw her. She went 5-2. My net *wo*man wasn't quite there when I needed her so I swung her in the boat. I love swimbait rods! Swinging 5's is funny stuff!

I wormed for a couple of hours and caught ten or fifteen fish. This smallie at 3-3 is the biggest I have a picture of since my computer crash. She ate a  4inch worm on a shaky head.

My girl wormed all day without a fish, so at the end of the day I found a male guarding fry and she threw in and got him. Couple quick moments later and he was back on duty!

Had a good time, gonna do it again tomorrow!

You had me worried there for a minute biz.

Your subject line is "California Ladies" and the first two pix were of you.

I mean the fish are cool, and no doubt you are one heeluva good lookin' guy,

but I'm glad you finally decided to include the pretty blonde "California girl"

Do me a favor.  Next time start with photo's of the blonde.

OK?

cool  8-)

I know my memory skips a beat every now and then and my concentration wanders sometimes :-/, I can't for the life of me remember reading about smallmouths and CA. Maybe the largemouths get all the attention. I guess it goes to reason though rocky shore lines and bottoms, cold water and lots to eat. Good looking fish (and lady) especially the smally...

Yo Biz, I got a few swimbaits last year that I only used a couple times because I never got a swimbait rod. Over here in Philly I tell people about swimbaits and they have no idea what I'm talking about. Anyway, what kind of rod would you recommend for the sb? Thanks bro...btw, as usual, awesome fish. I went today and caught four...the pics aint even worth posting...still the best day of the year for me so far. I had a blast. Ed

I'm tired of seeing your lame pics! All I've got to say is:

Lol, congrats on a nice trip with the girl, and good call letting her stick one or you'd have been in trouble!

** Note to mods: Fourbizzle is a friend (though we both often deny it) and the image is a joke, not a bash**

ed,

if you want to read some more about cali smallies read the posts by fishchris.  he caught a few decent ones as fourbizzle would put it lately.  i hadnt heard much about cali smallmouths either until this year but cali is obv. a great smallie state as well, esp up north where fourbizzle is.

Nice Fish! , Nice fishing partner also...lol. My friends give me a bad time about always fishing with my wife. I also tell them that she is prettier and better smelling than they are, and she catches quite a few fish also. We went yesterday evening to Eastman in Maderra co, Ca. It was pretty good on numbers but not quite as good on size My wife did manage one about three pounds and I got one about two. As for smallies in California there are a few good lakes around here I think Tullock in Modesto Co Ca, is the best?......Shimano makes a nice Swim Bait Rod it is in there Cruicial Line.

Thanks, Bob

Screw the gf! Its much more challenging to get big fish! ooooh im gonna pay for that one!

You should see the pictures from BEFORE she started getting sunburned ;)

Matt, thats funny stuff right there, you hardcore trout fisherman you :P

OBB, i have never fished tullock, but trinity, folsom, pardee, and berryessa all have some decent smallies. As for the crucial swimbait rods, yep! my go to swimbait rod is the crucial heavy.

Good times, good times!
