Lightninrod Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Hit my boss's small pond this afternoon and when I caught the first Bass, I discovered I'd left my tackle box with my scale and tape in our other car. All they wanted today was my KVD Spinnerbait made by Strike King and the were hitting it all over the pond. Had wind ruffling the water's surface with blue-bird skies and temps in the low 80s. Caught 15 or 16(mostly dinks) in total but just took pics of four of them. The first two pics are of the same Bass. Hope y'all enjoy seeing them: Dan Quote
Lightninrod Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 No pics of the dinks . Those are the 3-4(?) lbers. Dan Quote
Guest avid Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Nice bass ya got there. I'm just guessing mind you, but I estimate that the stringer would weigh 20.897 lbs. Quote
Deb Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Nice fish!! I'm think'n I may have to find some ponds to play in when Ky Lake is upside down. Oh yeah, my Dad has a very small one. Haven't fished it is a few yrs. Last time, I caught a 5lb'r 1st and only cast. I was just trying to prove to Dad that it Did have fish. Oh, stupid me!!!! Quote

Fishing Doug Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I don't know what I'm more impressed with, your fish or your gear! I was thinking the same thing. Dan, Always enjoy see your posts and pics. You certainly have nice equipment and always seem to have a hawg (or two or three) on the hook! Quote
Bass XL Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 the first one looks about 5 1/2....that exact spinnerbait was catching them like crazy here...beautiful fish Quote
senko_77 Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I couldn't begin to tell you the weight of the fish, but I would say it would be a safe guess to say that sweet rod/reel combo weighs less than 2oz you've got some awesome combos dan! Quote
jomatty Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 and while we are all flattering lightninrod id like to add that once again your pictures are great. you post the consistently best bass photos that ive seen at any of the forums ive been too. i would never go fishing with dan because then i couldnt say "no thats not what i look like im much skinnier in real life" because everyone knows he takes such good pictures. keep up the good work, matt Quote
