KS_Bassin Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 70 degree temperatures last week and now 30 and 40 degree temperatures :-[with lots of wind. Went out today roughly 40 degrees with wind blowing out of the North West at 10-15. The water was around 50-55 degrees and stained visibility about a foot. I was SLOW ROLLING a 3/8 ounce black/red spinnerbait with a colorado blade through timber and brushpiles. The fish hit like they hadn't eaten in years every one almost ripped the rod out of my hands. Even with the cold weather i still had to give the fishing a try glad I did hopefully i'll be able to get out tomorrow a throw a jig around since i didn't have any with me today. Quote
Bassassasin12 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 awesome bass way to slay em in tough conditions! Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted April 7, 2007 Super User Posted April 7, 2007 Very nice!!! I was a wuss today and stayed in. Maybe a should have given it a shot. : Quote
Craw Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 We're having similar conditions here in Virginia. Slow rolling a spinnerbait just like the one you're using has played a key role in some of my catches. Let us know how the jig works out for you. You might also try grinding a crankbait along the bottom of those same areas you're getting bit on the spinnerbait. Great looking fish by the way. My hats off to you for going after them in this cold, windy weather. Nice going and good luck. Quote
bassinandrew88 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 nice work i was fishing in northern missouri yesterday and my line was freezing as i was slowly working a jig it was ridiculous way to go in the weather we've had here in the midwest lately Quote
afendrbass Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 sweet fish, really want to go to lone star tomorrow, but it wont be till later i guess, if not Tuesday. It looks like it will be the warmest as of late. Any word on Ozarks fishing? I'll be fishing it for the first in a couple weeks. Thanks andrew Quote
