Guest avid Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I apologize in advance if I'm overstepping myself here, but I am trying to read all the news from the "forkers" but it's all over the place. I assume there is an "official" thread on it's way but in the meantime If y'all agree to use this thread then there will be one easy to access location where we can hear all the stories, laugh, compliment, and console without having to risk missing anything. Welcome home guys. Keep it comin' avid Quote
Bassassasin12 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Great Idea Avid, there are a whole bunch of threads running all over the place right now so this should solve the problem. Quote
Super User flechero Posted March 24, 2007 Super User Posted March 24, 2007 What a week! Â You know that you're in good company when you go to Fork for 5 days and consider the fishing secondary! Â To everyone who "almost" went or couldn't go, you missed out on something incredible... What a crew, everyone of them, awesome people!! Â I was more than pleasantly surprised by everyone who attended! Â I've already cleared the 08' trip with the wife!! Â Â Time to start saving, I'll make the 1st coffee can donation on 4/1 payday!! Â ...lol RW and I caught a number of 3-6 lb fish, and found a buzzbait bite on days 1 & 2. Â L_B_H has those pics for the video. BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 24, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 24, 2007 I took over 100 pics and a few videos. I sent them to LBH, but here's a sneak peek at a few of them: Matt Fly and GF Chris on the left; in blue - Triton21 (Kelley), and Flechero (Keith) going over a lake Fork map. There's the spot, right there! Alpster (Ronnie) cooking up a batch of Cajun Cookin'! That's "t bend tex" (Larry) to the right. Alpster (Ronnie) puts on the final touches as RW (Kent) supervises. The "T-Bends" (Larry and Denise) with BigHead From left to right: Flechero (Keith), Alpster (Ronnie), The_Muddy_Man (Dominic), RW (Kent), Riskkid (Carl), and Ron (the other Mook!). (sorry about the blurry picture) Try navigating through that.... at night! Very typical scene on the lake Beauty shots  Keri fishing from the front of the boat A 4.4 pounder Keri pulled off a bed   Quote

Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Way to round them up Avid. Folks I have asked the attendees to limit their reports as I am trying to collect all their media for the video. Â It WILL be done in a few days, I just need a little time. I figured I will post video and then all the attendees can answer the questions and add personal touches with their pics as their is so much media, I surely can't use it all. This will keep the report back organized. Â Hang tough guys, everything is on back burner here till video is done,....I'm on it, working nonstop till it's done. If you have not sent me your media,....please do so TODAY!!!!!! Â The longer I have to wait on media, the longer the launch is pushed back. Quote
Troutfisher Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Maybe you could sticky this thread, or a thread with all the pictures that LBH is preparing? Quote

Super User Alpster Posted March 26, 2007 Super User Posted March 26, 2007 If you have not sent me your media,....please do so TODAY!!!!!! Â The longer I have to wait on media, the longer the launch is pushed back. LBH, I dropped off the mooks at BPS in Harrisburg at 1:00 PM and got home at around 6:00 to find my new computer crashed to the ground. :'( :'( I will use the laptop to get my pictures/video to you tomorrow, somehow. SORRY! Ronnie Quote
Super User Alpster Posted March 27, 2007 Super User Posted March 27, 2007 For everyone who is chomping at the bit for LBH's video of the Fork trip. I have to take responcibility for the huge delay. I had all kinds of computer trouble and then learned a lot about the challenges of trying to send several gigabytes of video and pictures across the internet. I finally had to surrender and send the files on a DVD by overnight mail. All of this is not LBH's fault, he has been very patient with all of my foibles here. He should have everything tomorrow. I can't wait to see the finished product. Thanks for waiting me out on this. Ronnie Quote
Zel Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Thanks for the update Alpster. Â I'll try and stop that screaming mob, loaded with pitch forks and torches, from going to LBH's house, and divert them over to yours. Â Have sandwiches ready. Quote

nboucher Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 GBF--I mostly fish out of the kayak whose nose you see between the two canoes. You can't see it in that photo, but it's got a depth finder mounted on it as well as a rod holder and a rig for keeping my paddle out of the way when I'm fishing. The dog's name is Molly. --N Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 31, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 31, 2007 Ok, so now that the video is out, I can finally tell y'all about the big fish Keri & I caught. Here's Keri's new PB - a 7-pound 8-ounce lunker Here's the 8-pound 1-ounce pig that WOULD have been my new PB! Just look at the gut on this girl And here's the 9-pound 1-ounce Lake Fork Hawg! The most amazing thing of all, was that all three were caught on the same day! All were caught on spinnerbaits. After fishing for 3 days watermelon plastics just like the locals said I should, and not having great results, I finally fell back to the "Throw what you know" rule and picked up a spinnerbait - my #1 confidence bait. I had hooked the hawg the day before on a plastic lizard, I'm certain of it, as it was in the same 25' area. She came off, so I went back there the next day with a spinnerbait. I bumped what I thought at first was a stump. I popped it kept it coming to the boat. I thought to myself, "I don't recall a stump being around there, so maybe that was a fish." So I cast right back there again, brought my spinnerbait back over the "stump".... nothing. I thought, "You're right! It WAS a fish. Dangit! I should have set the.." WHAM!!! and it was a battle from there! Many thanks to Russ for catching it on video. It's one thing to catch your personal best, but to do it in front of your friends (several boats in the area were BassResourcers) AND have it caught on tape is truly amazing! The other two pigs were caught while on a guide trip later that day with Dean Stroman. I need to let y'all now what a true gentleman and professional he is. On Monday he took us out. The angry winds made it difficult for us to fish, and we netted out with about 7 fish, all between 2-5 pounds. At the end of the day, Dean said, "Don't pay me. I know this lake and I can do better. Since you're staying here this whole week, let me take you out again free of charge so I can make it up to you." Say what?!! Yup, you heard me. Now when was the last time you ever heard a guide do that!? Never I bet. The result was Keri's PB and my second lunker of the day! Many thanks to Dean! An incredible guide, fun to be around, and true Southern Gentleman! Keri and Professional Guide Dean Stroman P.S. Many of you don't know it, but Dean writes articles for this site. Just do a search for his name on the main page to find them. Quote
Guest avid Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Way to go Glenn and Keri!!! Details man, details. what spinnerbait, color, blades, presentations, cover, depth. Â You just the essentials. Isn't it great when you ignore all the expert advice and go with your gut and come up a winner. Kudo's. Quote
