Super User burleytog Posted March 26, 2007 Super User Posted March 26, 2007 First trip of the year. Took the canoe out for trout. It was cold cold cold that day. Air temp was in the upper 30s with a W wind of 10-15. I lasted an hour and a half. First fish of 06 First bass of 06 A good morning on the water produced these stockers Two days after the above photo Sunrise on the water Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 26, 2007 Author Super User Posted March 26, 2007 19" caught on first canoe trip of the year. Hooked in the gills, so I kept and fried up One of SW VA's best kept secrets Best LM of the year I love catching carp Ever see something like that on the water? Pulled those two off the same laydown First trip alone in the new (to me) boat Quote
clipper Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Congrats on the new boat and the beautiful lakes you have to fish. I didn't see any jet skis on the water, do they not allow them up there? Quote

I didn't see any jet skis on the water, do they not allow them up there? I didn't have the boat to fish the big lakes until after jerk-ski season last year. 95% of my time on the water last year was spent on lakes of less than 200 acres. Quote
flippin4it. Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I see your wearing a Ocracoke Island t-shirt, ever eat at Howards Pub? Great picks. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 26, 2007 Author Super User Posted March 26, 2007 I see your wearing a Ocracoke Island t-shirt, ever eat at Howards Pub? Great picks. God I love Howard's. Although my wife and I have spent a lot of time on the OBX, we only ventured down to Ocracoke once (actually twice, but Isabelle stopped us short once). Howard's Carolina Classic burger haunts my dreams. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted March 26, 2007 Super User Posted March 26, 2007 Those are great pictures. Gotta love the smaller lakes. Quote

Crabcakes Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 First off those are some beautiful lakes. Burley I've got family that live down on the outerbanks and go there all the time. Ever been to Tortugas? My cousin and some relatvies work their/own it. Ocracoke would have to be my favorite place though. Howards is an awesome restaurant. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 27, 2007 Author Super User Posted March 27, 2007 Thanks for the compliments guys, I sometimes think I spend more time on the water snapping the shutter than fishing. ;D Quote
