Guest avid Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Lake Fork update. Conditions were tough with high winds causing problems. There were some good catches though. Triton got an 8 lber and RW has a 7. So the week is off to a mixed start. I'll bet it just keeps getting better and better.
Guest Texas_Bass_Pro Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I'm sure glad some of the members are doing good. Yall keep it up. This is what happened to me. What luck. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1174335961/0
VABasser Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Needless to say I'm jealous. I can't wait to see a movie or some pics. They must be having a great time. Wish I was there. :'(
clipper Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 There is no internet service in their hotel so that could explain the lack of posts from the guys out there. Jeff and his fishing partner caught 4 yesterday and 3 today with the largest being 4 lbs. He also said the strong winds made it hard to find the bedding bass. All in all a rough day of fishing due to what he called 30 mph winds.
bighed Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I just got home from the big gumbo dinner at Fishermans Cove. WOW!!! Talk about good eats. Fishing was pretty tough today with the high wind. I stayed in one cove all day and had 5 fish from 1-4 lbs. Going to fish with Alpster tomorrow morning. The weather should be better so maybe someone will get another big one like Triton's.
Super User Catt Posted March 20, 2007 Super User Posted March 20, 2007 Keep chunking guys they will bite
Troutfisher Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Bighead, tell the guys Troutfisher's watching the board. That'll keep them going. ;D
Super User Matt Fly Posted March 20, 2007 Super User Posted March 20, 2007 Let me add to Triton 21, (Kelley"s 8.9). Just one of his good fish he caught. He was blind casting a BPS weightless senko and got tore up, she hit it and busted him off after a short fight. He re-rigged and cast the same rig in the same spot and nailed another one in the same spot, after he landed this one, which was 8.9, he then took his other senlo out of her mouth. Two consecutive casts nailed the same fish twice. Some of the guys nailed a big crappie on a big spinner bait, that took them by surprise. Food was excellant, most excellant. Looking forward to today. Matt
Fisher of Men Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Hey guys! Great to hear that everyone arrived safely and are catching something. Be careful out there in the wind. It'll probably be as strong today as yesterday. The good thing is that the storms that were predicted for mid-week have been pushed to the weekend (if even then). I'll be thinking of you all while I stamp out ignorance today. I'm going out to my big pond this evening in the jon boat. I'll just imagine a bit more brush around me and pretend like my two pounders are twelve. It'll be just like I'm right there with you all. . . NOT!! :'( You guys stay safe. God bless, Fisher
Guest avid Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Be safe out there guys. Ain't no sharelunker worth getting hurt over. Oooops. Just occurred to me that you guys at the fork can't see this post. NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMind. :-/
Super User Catt Posted March 20, 2007 Super User Posted March 20, 2007 Come on Muddy all ya got to beat is 8.9 lbs
Blue Eyed Fisher Chick Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Talked with Craigaria last night and he and the 2 guys he's fishing with (buzzbaitfool12 and Jason) caught 27 (I think that was the number) yesterday. ;D He said it was still a little windy but it was nice. They fished all day with the exception of stopping for some lunch. He said everyone seems to be having a GREAT time! I will keep you posted as I talk to him as to how things are going.

wishn4fishn Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I feel so guilty. I can't take it anymore.....I'm coming out of the rod box. I found you guys online late last week after catching a sandbass at lake fork(wondering how rare that was). I came across the 2nd annual BassResource.com roadtrip and have been hooked ever since. This is better than Survivor, Big Brother, American Idol, etc. I look forward to the photo/videos. Glenn/Russ, I predict next year you guys will have a producer and we will have some live feeds from all over the country as all the good bassin folk from all across the country come together for a forkin good time. I know I'm not alone in my eagerness to get fishing updates from the people I seem to already know. I have an RV spot about a half mile (east by water) away from Fisherman's Cove. My PB is a 12.5 pound bassl I caught her in the spring of '95. So I have become addicted to Fork I got to fish a little last weekend and landed a 7.5 pound bass (black lizard/chartreuse tail). My 10 year old got a 6.5 (fluke ghost)! We were night fishing on a pier. We had two big fish break our lines. Best of luck to all. I hope to see all you guys/gals next year, you too Avid. God Bless, Mike
=Matt 5.0= Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Welcome aboard Mike, I hope to make the trip in '08.
