Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 I think he's saying Ronnie won't be getting a word in edgewise,lol.
Super User Long Mike Posted March 2, 2007 Super User Posted March 2, 2007 Avid, are you out of your mind? Don't you know that those guys what live up North like to eat stuff like corned beef and cabbage, and cabbage roles, and cole slaw and Boston baked beans? I did a Google search and the results clearly show that people who live in New England suffer from more flatulism than anywhere else in the US of A. You will be trapped, TRAPPED in an RV with three guys whose primary method of communication will not come from their mouths. The folks from New England have learned to communicate with each other with their sphincters. For example, the sound "fluuurp" means turn left. On the other hand, the sound "phweet" means turn right. Be very alert to the sound "phluurpht" That means "I have to change my britches." You must also insist that the bus contains at least four cases of aerosol air freshener.
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 If Muddy is still the navigator, let's hope he can follow bodily function directions better than he can follow a map! ;D
Super User burleytog Posted March 2, 2007 Super User Posted March 2, 2007 Well, if they're still stopping at my place on Friday night, I'm feeding them soup beans, cornbread, turnip greens and fried chicken. Should make for an interesting drive the next day.
t bend tex Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 should anyone need a bait monkey fix, there is a BPS in Bossier City (shreveport) Louisiana - not a bad drive. Also, a Texas based chain, Academy sporting goods, has locations somewhat near Fork- Be aware that all cell phone services MAY NOT be available in the rural area of the lake- Verizon does not work on some areas of my home lake! (I just dropped Verizon for that reason). I have been in spring training on Toledo Bend Lake this week- water is warming fast-bass are moving in fast- my wife and I had good catches- but no hogs- going back the first three days of next week for another fix and a little more training. see you next Sunday evening on fork!
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Next week we are puttin the tomatoes together then we will add the meatballs. Most of the replys were split so it is Rigatoni because our cooking situation makes that easier on us cooks. Ill bring plenty of Romano Cheese. ARE THE EATING UTENSILS AND PLATES THERE ALREADY nd someone has offered Italian Bread and Garlic ( I knw butter was mentioned) but I will bring some Virgin Olive Oil Butter doesnt cut it on traditional Garlic Bread
Super User Gatorbassman Posted March 2, 2007 Super User Posted March 2, 2007 I have the plasticware and dishes covered.
bighed Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Ripped this guide report from another forum, take it for what it's worth: No time for a long report. I am on my regular everyday on the water routine. But, I can say that we have been averaging 20-40 fish a day. We fished an area this morning and caught some nice pre-spawn fish. Went back to the same area after lunch and the beds were everywhere. In 2 hours a wave of big hawgs came in and started laying immediately. I have never seen so many fish spawn all at one time... We have caught a bunch of 4-5 lb fish with some larger, two over 10 lbs. this week. All of the regular spring time baits are working. The key is water temp. Look for some warm water. We caught our fish after lunch in 62-67 degree water. Todays Tip: Dont let the muddy water (from the wind) bother your selection of areas to fish!
Super User Alpster Posted March 2, 2007 Super User Posted March 2, 2007 My crew will show up in the evening on Sunday the 18th. Ronnie

Guest avid Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Bad News After I came home from putting mom on the airplane, I received a horribly distressing call from NY. Everyone is well - health wise - but there is a serious issue that requires my urgent attention. It is with really deep regret that I inform y'all that I will not be able to join you at the fork. I apologize to Ronnie, dominick, and Ron, for any inconvience on what is sure to be the mother of all road trips. Norman, and all other interested attendees. Linda at Fishermans cove marina has had to turn down numerous requests because she was booked solid. I'm sure Norman that you can find another roomie out there to share expenses. Lastly, I had a boat reserved at Ricky's boat rental. I cancelled and Rick was great, letting me off the hook with no fee. So there is a boat available. I feel terrible about this. I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to meeting y'all, but this is serious family business and I have to be there every step of the way. Ricky tells me that the fishing is really picking up. The sharelunker caught last week was caught by a gentleman who used the services of a guide for two days, then rented one of Ricks boats, and caught the 13lber while fishing with his brother. I couldn't get a refund on the airline tix, but I have a credit on continental for a year, so who knows? maybe I'll take a little trip down the road. I wish y'all the best of luck. My posts will be spotty, but I will always be in touch. your bassin' bud avid
Super User Alpster Posted March 7, 2007 Super User Posted March 7, 2007 Wow Avid, Man, I'm sorry to hear you can't make the trip! I really hope your family delima works out OK. Don't worry about me & the mooks, you just take care of yourself & your family. I'm disappointed we won't get to see you on the trip. I know this is bummer for you and I will be praying that everything works out for the best. Maybe you can use that the plane ticket later in the year to come and fish one of my honey holes. Take care and keep us posted. Ronnie
