Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 4, 2007 Super User Posted February 4, 2007 There are a couple of guys we haven't heard from in a while. (TbendTex, and burtus) Has anyone heard from them and are they still planning on going on the trip? I sent them a PM a week ago and haven't heard back from them.
Guest the_muddy_man Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Hey Fluke Brutus is the other half of 2 Mooks in a Boat Fishing Team, my best friend Ron. He is in Florida for a month hunting gatoers and fishing, POOR GUY. Yea Me and Ron are coming down in the Bass Bus for sure.
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 4, 2007 Super User Posted February 4, 2007 I'm done. Nothing much to do today so I put together everything I'm bringing to Fork and have all my Plano boxes totally organized. "For fishing" I have one bag containing four boxes plus four rods. However, I'm bringing a little more, just in case. :
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 lol, I'm bringing 1 spidershaft and 1 CAST for kids rod. Hook/weight box. That's it. Brent is my roommate so packing plastic is dumb. Any miracle lure that seems to be the cats meow I'll just go buy. Live bait and plastic will be 85% of what I throw so that should do it. I WILL have my steam press java machine though, lol :

I have limited my self to ONE tackle bag and 4- rods for 'fishing'. I will have some extras in case a change up is in order. I will also be bringing along a few basic rod building supplies in case one of our group breaks a tip or steps on a guide, etc. No warantees implied, but we will be able to get you up and fishing again. Ronnie

Guest the_muddy_man Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Ah is that a S-H-I-M-A-N-O answer????
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 One of the many things that gave you away were the $18 flip-flops. They cost about $3 at WallyWorld, but I suppose they would cost $18 if you bought them from North Face. I hear North Face flip-flops are much more comfortable for Alpine climbing. After a short time you can't even tell you are wearing them ;D ;D ;D Mike, what size are you? The spring line was launched on the Norh Face site today and there's somthign with your name on it, lol Click Me
Super User Long Mike Posted February 4, 2007 Super User Posted February 4, 2007 Yo! That's one "tackle bag" AND four rods! WELL, EXCUUUUUSE ME LMAO

Super User Long Mike Posted February 4, 2007 Super User Posted February 4, 2007 Russ, thanks for the North Face info. I looked through the offerings, but could not find any flip-flop that fits me. I wear an 11 CCC. C=cheap.

I wear an 11 CCC. C=cheap. These are the ones I've had for going on 4 years now. http://www.topsailgiftbasket.com/popup_image.php?pID=95 http://www.topsailgiftbasket.com/index.php?cPath=23_56 And for only 10 bucks you can't beat the price. I used to get them for $3 when I lived in Hawaii.
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 Dude, the locals make those just to see the howley's from the main land wear them with socks on the beach. They don't have alot of comedy clubs on the big island.

Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 Howley! ;D One more thing to catch on film,...bring a pair of black nylon knee highs!!
Super User flechero Posted February 4, 2007 Super User Posted February 4, 2007 So I have a question for you guys who are already packed... are you done fishing until the trip?? I can't ever seem to pack or organize more than a few days ahead because I'll end up using it again or unpacking it looking for something! I admire those who can pack light, I'm a "what if" packer! ...lol
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 I've been done since mid-December. I brought alot last year, wasn't neccessary.
Super User flechero Posted February 4, 2007 Super User Posted February 4, 2007 I've been done since mid-December. I brought alot last year, wasn't neccessary. I guess that makes sense, I'm sure you have ice.... I was thinking about people in the southern portions of the US who don't have ice to worry about.

There are a few things I am getting together that I won't be useing untill then but that's about it.
Super User Alpster Posted February 4, 2007 Super User Posted February 4, 2007 So I have a question for you guys who are already packed... are you done fishing until the trip?? The forcast highs for the next week will not get above 28 degrees with wind chills at -5. I think I'm done fishing for a while. I can survive by tuning & packing my gear and dreamin about Texas fishing and Texas weather. LOL Ronnie
Guest Texas_Bass_Pro Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Speaking of forcast, I just would like for yall that aren't from Texas to know that it would be a good.....no, a GREAT idea if you pack winter time and spring time clothes as well as rain gear. I have seen some warm weather in March as well as really cold weather. If yall need anything just pm me. I only live 1hour and 20 min. from Fork. I am going to book my room next week at Lake Fork Lodge. If anybody is still looking for any rooms there should be several left but you might want to get a move on it because that is a busy month for Lake Fork. I don't know if there are any rooms left at where the other members are staying so you might want to check with them first if you like. Here is a link to the lodge if interested. http://www.lakeforklodge.com/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those that are not going to use a guide, do you know where you are going to focus your fishing at? If you don't know where you want to start then PM me and I will send you some info. on where I plan on to start and why.
