Fished Thursday at Lake Weiss. Left Wed nite with high dreams of getting them right before the spawn. We fished 8 hours and boated 1 fish. I did miss one on a jig but that was it for the bites all day. We even tried sight fishing with trick worms wacky rigged. Pulled the worm right in front of a bass that had its nose right against wood. Would not even look at it. Most puzzling thing was the carp are spawning and tearing the shallows up. First time I have ever seen carp spawn this early. Water temp was 63 when we started at 7:30 and hit 71 that afternoon. We even backed out to the secondary p[oints and tried everything we had. Puzzling day.

Does the bass spawn coincide with the carp spawn?  Tons of carp are shallow now spawning.  Can these spawning carp be caught?

The bass spawn is still going strong in SE Florida, so I doubt it's over in Georgia.

Don't know much about catching carp during their spawn.

I'd wait till after their done and pitch cigarettes to the beds.   8-)

ONly way to catch spawning carp is bowfishing, which is fun.....

I think for some reason the fish are just now thinking about staging in Ga's big water other than seminole and part of sinclair. I am out of commision right now but everybody I talk to is yet to see any beds or notice fish anywhere other than shallow feeding when conditions allow and periodic bites on points that are usually loaded this time of year with pre and post-spawn fish.
