J@k3 01s3n Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Well tonight I am planning on making my first night fishing trip. The temperatures have stayed steady in the 60's and low 70's for the past 3 or 4 days. There has been rain and thunderstorms, but tonight and tomorrow look great. I was just wondering if I could get some advice on fishing at night? I'm interested to know what you guys throw out there, but I am also interested in any tips or advice you can give for safety during night fishing, maybe things I should look out for. Quote
Captain Cali Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Everything works at night. I mostly use a variety plastics fished very slow. I also use cranks, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, topwater, swimbaits, and jigs with some success. Everything works. Soft plastics are my go to. As far as safety...I never fish without a light, preferably a head light so both hands can work freely. I don't fish from a boat so I can't really help there but someone else will. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 25, 2007 Super User Posted March 25, 2007 If your going to throw a top water like a jitterbug , keep a steady retrieve back to the boat so the bass can target it in the dark. The same thing with a spinner bait. That's my two cents worth. Quote
