Went back out to Lake Orange today...the temps were in the 80s and they were calling for evening showers so I wanted to get out there before it all hit.

I got out there at 12:45pm (I don't have a 4th block class and I get out then). As soon as I pulled up the "T" dock was loaded with elderly people and some older folks fishing for crappie. As soon as the crowd died down a little I decided to hit the dock too (to bass fish). The entire time folks left and right were catching crappie and I was the ONLY one there bass fishing. One man managed to catch 30 crappie! me? I only caught one 11" bass on a green pumpkin/pearl belly YUM Dinger of course wacky rigged.

Needless to say I released that baby into the pond (my pond). And was happy to watch him check out the area where I released him, I forgot to take pictures (even though I did bring my camera!) but it was my first bass of '07!! Now that the weather is warming up a little I will be hitting the Lake more! It was fun and I had a good time watching that bass swim around in the pond before jetting off into the depths.

He was healthy and due to my bubble box he managed to live the 10 mile trip home. Hopefully he/she will spawn this spring and we will have new bass babies in the pond!

The crappie and bluegill in the pond are ACTIVE finally! They are hitting the top of the water getting the bugs that are swarming on top of the surface (and there's millions of them!). Also the frogs are even producing in the pond. I found the carcass of a female frog on the shore when I was releasing my bass and it had a belly full of eggs! So surely we have an abundant food supply for our fish in the pond.

I will probably head back out tomorrow if the weather holds up, this time I WILL take pictures or even make a movie! 8-)

God bless
