Well, just got back from the Colorado State Team qualifier @ Lake Amistad. Whew, What a lake!!!! we do not have lakes like that here in Colorado! Some of that water was absolutley gin clear. You could see 50ft straight to the bottom. Anyway, i could go on and on about the lake but the bottom line is.....i didnt do very well.............I was in 13th after the 1st day and it was all downhill from there...........I did manage to catch a 5.5 and a 6.65 on back to back casts........I'll post the link for everyone to see..........The largest fish caught during the tournament was 11.42............My big fish came on a jerkbait(LC Staysee), jerkbaiting the submerged trees in about 12 feet of water..........Most everyone who did well caught most of thier fish on a carolina rig with a short leader(10 inches or so) and a brush hog or 8 in lizard or 10 in worm . Some fish are spawning but most of the bigger fish were caught in about 20-30 feet of water.......Watermelon/Red is the color of choice down there...........I would highly recommend going to Amistad if you ever get the chance..........There are fish EVERYWHERE!!!!!

We did go to Alan Henry as well...............We got 1 full day before we left for Amistad...........I caught 8 fish with the biggest being about 3 1/2 lbs................The guy we went with who is a guide and lives on the lake caught a 4,5,6, and 7 lb'er that day...........Smoked us to say the least............Water temp on Alan Henry was still in the 40's.............About 48..........Caught all my fish on Alan henry on a shaky head yamamoto 8 in worm.............We did find water temp's @ Amisatd in the low 60's.........
