About a week ago I looked at the extended forecast and thought maybe this Sunday would be a good day to hit the water for the first time this year.  Well the weather took a turn for the worst and I woke up to about 5 or so inches of snow.  That didn't deter me, I was still out front of my house pitching and flippin a casting weight to isolated cover like electrical boxes, fire hydrants and windows.  Needless to say I think cabin fever is getting to me.  :-?

What's all that white stuff over everything? See that you have a buc jacket on I guess you rather be down in Florida. 80 and windy today. Don't worry spring should be coming soon.

You should have been with me that Sunday. My partner and I were catching bass all day on the hot side of Lake Anna. In addition, we also caught crappie, catfish and sunfish. Good day! Caught most of the fish on the drop shot, but also took fish on Silver Buddy, Bill Norman deep little N, black grub on 1/8th oz. jighead and four inch plastic ringworm in electric blue/fire tail.

Fish were located at the base of steep dropping banks in 17-20' of water in the morning and up in 3-5' in the afternoon after the sun warmed things up a little.

Worst part of the day was having to clean the road grime off the boat after dragging it 100 miles over snow covered roads.

Well I just couldn't seem to get bit on a 1/2 oz casting weight, I just didn't understand why not. Seemed like a good pattern to me. :D NHBA, I bet you had the lake to yourself. I'm planning on getting out this weekend for sure. I can't wait. Snook I used to live in Tampa, I'm a big Bucs fan, maybe this next season will be better than last years.  :-/

No cover because we had been out the night before giving it a cleaning and it got dark on us.  We planned to go out again the next day because all they had called for was rain so we left it uncovered.  Turns out the weatherman was wrong, ::)

VaBasser:

Actually, there were lots of boats on the lake.  It shocked me.  I was unable to get to a number of my spots due to boats sitting on them.  I understand that there was a tournament on the hot side that morning, but I do know there were plenty of boats.  More than I have ever seen at one time on that side of the lake.

I feel your pain man. It just snowed by me again, right as the other snow melted. Ha.  I was really looking forward to fishing this weekend. Oh well, guess ill just have to wait a bit longer. Hope the weather gets nice around you.
