Even though I'm going to fishing some big water tomorrow with SteveP, I had to get out on my home lake to try out my new steez.

Well It is really a dream outfit. The P-line evolution needs a little breaking in, but after getting out some of the stretch and kinks with ratltraps it worked beautifully.

Oh speaking of ratltraps. Here is the bass I christened my new steez with. a beutiful 4 lbe on a gold trap steezfish1.jpg

If that wasn't exciting enough I caught another bass on a whittler custom crank. this is shallow run bait that sort of runs to the side for a few feet than gets back on track. Interesting action

And finally my first fish on a Matts baby bass. This was one of two that were gifts from the "Georgia Gent" Mr. Dan Lightingrod>

The lure has a sort of orange cast to it. Great color. Wish I could say I caught a hawg, but it's a first and that's always good. Now it's a confidence bait and it will catch me some more I'm sure.

Thank you MattLUres and Mr. Dan.

Avid,

I know you dont want to hear this but your picture taking is getting better  ;D. Self portrait with rod, reel, bass and a piece of the rattletrap. Good Job.

Great day!

Good for you. Nothing like some success with new equipment.

Atta boy, Avid!

Two questions.

1.  Did you take the photo with a camera or your cell phone?

2.  Are you wearing cocoons?

Cool report Avid. As you will see they dont always catch big bass. Sometimes those little guys want some too! I think your pics look fine!

Yes, Yes,

Thank y'all for noticing that my picuture taking ability has improved. I have been trying.

The most important lesson I got (sorry but I forget who said it) is to be looking into the sun. That isn't always easy in Florida, but as you can see when possible it really helps.

the other is that I'm finally starting to get a "feel" for where to point the lens. I think it must have been installed at slight upward tilt, because I feel like I'm aiming at my shoes, but that's were it seems to want to go.

See all I go through for you guys.

Buying new equipment, catching nice bass, and posting 4 lbers in January.

Sheesh, what a guy like me won't suffer for his buds. 8-)
