SuthernProg Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Finally, after a couple of failed outings. Caught the leading edge of a front and caught a little one on a whackey rigged Kinami Flash. Boy, now the monkey can get off my back and go hang out at a tackle shop. Prog Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 20, 2007 Super User Posted January 20, 2007 You are fantastic! What a story! Keep 'em coming. How much did the fish weigh? 10 or 12 pounds? Did he fight hard????? Did you catch him in your private pond? Let us know. Guess Who????????? Quote

SuthernProg Posted January 25, 2007 Author Posted January 25, 2007 Sam, he was 15 pounds if he was an ounce. Had him hooked so long, he ran me around the pond a couple of times. After about an hour of tugging back and forth, the fish and I decided to take a 15 minute lunch break. I set a couple of small boulders around my rod and went to the car to get some PB&J sammiches. When I got back, there he was up on the bank trying to roll the boulders off my rod. Silly fish....then he finally conceded defeat since we were both getting a bit bored with it all. Then I went home. Ha! I think we ticked off some of those Chowan River supporters last night, but hey...it's a democracy. I would have actually supported the thing if we all agreed on a 14" slot for both rivers instead of just saying 'hope we dont get caught". Anyway, a pretty cool get together. You going to the "Rama this weekend? Prog Quote
