Westpalmdude, rates a big . He arranged a great day for the South Florida Boyz to meet in Okeleelee park in West Palm Beach.

It could not have been more fun. Just a total good time.

Of course the bottomless budweiser cooler helped, but that was ony part of the story.

The park is beautiful, the bass plentiful (if a little dinkish), the bonding was instant, and the comraderie was unsurpassed.

We had delicious venison suasage, budweiser, and bass.

We caught em on everything.

Here's Jason crankin the bagley that caught him several.

Here's an image of the So. Florida boyz before Syfer420 and his brother got in, and after gtbehary had left. Photo was taken on Avids famous camera cell phone, by young Wayne, the next KVD.

I just can't say enough about what a great buch of guys this is and how much fun we had (did I mention our friend Bud???)

In addition to Jason, who organized this fabulous day, I think special recognition has to go to "New 2 Bass". Alex, is the most energetic, enthusiastic, down home fun guy you could ever what to go fishing with. Just don't try to keep track of where he is. I swear, he covered every inch of shoreline, between getting beers or whatever for whoever needed something. "Where the helll is Alex?? was the most #1 quetion. Then you'd see him off in the distance yelling "fish on"

He also did the absolute coolest thing, which I believe any one of this incredible bunch of guys would also have done, but he was the one who actually did it.

A man was taking a walk around the lake with his young daughter say 4 years old, when the yell "fish on" comes up. I look over and see Alex run over say a couple quick words to the dad, then puts the rod in the littel girls hand and has her reel in the fish. We all gave out a big cheer. It was just another perfect moment in an absoutely perfect day.

We all vowed to meet again real soon, and I have no doubt we will.

By the way, how's the fishing in Denver this week?

I found out that Alex was in the operating room when they removed the cancer from my wife!  Small world.  Thanks Alex.

Thanks Dom.  The shoulder is not so much painful as stiff.  I feel the need to stretch it out alot.  But I have been continuing my rehab at home.  I think I may be ready to load the canoe in the pickup.  I bought a 43 lb optima battery and keep it in the rear cab of the Tacoma. It was pricey for sure, but I feel very confident leaving it inside the truck because it is so well sealed both from spillage and vapors. I also bought a fold up rolling dolly that I can put the battery and tm on to minimize lift time and height.

So I may be getting out on the water pretty soon.

If I re-injure myself my next post will be "South Florida Boyz use avid for bait"  :-?
