craigaria Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Gave it another try today and got a great start to a new year... Caught 11 fish in 2 hours. My roomate Jason got the biggest, we didn't weigh it but it was probably 7- 7 1/2 lbs! we had 3 others around 3 lbs or so. The rest were 2 pounders. We need to get some scales on his boat : Hope everyone had a great new year! Quote

craigaria Posted January 2, 2007 Author Posted January 2, 2007 Nice fish. Congratulations. What baits were you guys throwing? Carolina rigged flukes... Quote
Bassassasin12 Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 looks like the flukes score again, this time c-rigged? Is this something you normally catch fish on or something semi- new? Quote
Cade Laufenberg Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Carolina rigging flukes is a great presentation for fall/winter bass to mimmick the shad die off..Flukes have great action weightless, but on a C rig, they really immitate a dieing shad near the bottom, skipping up and then fluttering back down. craigaria Posted January 2, 2007 Author Posted January 2, 2007 looks like the flukes score again, this time c-rigged? Is this something you normally catch fish on or something semi- new? Been doing it for a few years... It seems to work really well in the early spring too. I had alot of luck with it this past summer, but I used a couple of split shots instead of a bigger weight. It works well to pick off the bigger fish that hang out under a school of bass feeding on the injured baitfish 8-) Had some of my best days with a c-rigged fluke... Quote
