Craw Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Went out on the river again today for a few hours. I'm still playing with my new camera so I took a few pictures. Caught 7 today. Got 5 smallies on pointer 78s and 100s, and 2 redeyes on a spoon. Didn't catch anything of much size but what a beautiful day to be on the river. Looking kinda cocky here. Don't know what I was thinking! Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted December 31, 2006 Super User Posted December 31, 2006 Hmm... How did I miss this yesterday? Man, those are some nice brown fish. Me like! (I also like your "cocky" pic. You should make that your avatar). Quote
Super User Alpster Posted December 31, 2006 Super User Posted December 31, 2006 Mighty nice brown fish in the winter! Good for you! Thanks for the pics! Ronnie Quote

Troutfisher Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Good smallmouth... And I thought cats were the only ones who liked fish that much! Quote
basspro48 Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Gotta love those river smallies, I need to make the trip to the New one of these days. Quote
Troutfisher Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 When most people go to the New River Gorge Bridge here in WV, they admire the bridge and the valley it spans...however, I think of how hard it would be to pull a fish up from the top. http://filebox.vt.edu/users/rkoors/Bcmpr.jpg ;D ;D ;D Quote

I went to WV Bridge Day this year and I stood looking down at that water thinking the very same thing. I thought it would be cool to lower down a Hopkins spoon and jig one up from the depths. Quote
IEatBass Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Very cool and great photos! I would love to catch some river smallies. We have a distinct lack of moving fresh water around here, closest river to San Diego is the Colorado. I think there's some small mouth in there though. Great post. Quote
heathen Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 More nice smallies!!!!!!!! Looks like the jerkbait bite is on down there. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 2, 2007 Super User Posted January 2, 2007 Great looking chunks!! Quote
