Okieracer Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 What should I do when the topwater bite is off (mid day) and I'm fishing a super weedy pond? Even a weedless texas rig was getting snagged up pretty bad. I didn't have my spinning pole with me so I couldn't throw a weightless weedless senko either. Any particular ideas or tips? I was using 1/4oz bullets also. I know there are plenty of fish in the pond because at dawn and dusk we crush them on buzzes and fast spinnerbaits and spro frogs. Quote
-ebby- Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 i go very very very slow twitching a scum frog tight to cover one of my most productive baits for midday Quote
BassNub Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 midday and fishing weedy spots i usually use a wacky rigged senko or try using your frog very sorry and barely make any wake when on your retrieve Quote
senko_77 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Get the Reaction Innovations Screwed Up Bullet. It's a clear screw in piece that goes into the head of any soft plastic and makes it super weedless. Get you a *** Ripper worm or Tapertail worm and go to town on those fish Quote
flipinstick88 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Try a lipless crank. Tick and rip it over the weeds. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted September 29, 2008 Super User Posted September 29, 2008 If you can't throw one of those heavy Senko's with your baitcasting gear, you have some serious setup problems. Quote
Okieracer Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 I use off brand senkos and I have a very cheap baitcaster. Does need to be oiled but I'm still learning to use it properly. Quote
