Fisherman Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Nice pig! I'm been dying to go fishing @ night. I will have to bring plenty of light since I will be bank fishing and don't want to get bitten by any snakes. This brings me to my question: Would the light from a lantern impact the bite? TIA! Quote
sirmo Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Many believe that shining a light to where a fish may be holding can spook them. I tend to agree and make sure I am very conservative with my light use, and never shine the light into the water. Quote
Keithscatch Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Nice fish Steve. Was this from that pond close by you told me about? Quote
sirmo Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Lake Mandarin. Finally located the springs with a little help from the depth finder. Fishing in this lake is pretty good. Average a fish every half hour. And usually at least 2lbs. sometimes a 3, Gotten a few 4 pounders and had one pushing 7 Love this place! Nice to hit after the river hand it to ya. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted November 14, 2006 Super User Posted November 14, 2006 Nice fish. What state are you in? It's a little cold for much night fishing where I'm at with night temperatures in the 20s and some 30s. Quote
