I have been searching for some local clubs. (around KCMO) but have found very few that are not in STL area. i did find one that seemed good but it only shows 15 members. since i have never looked at clubs before i was wondering if the size of the club is any indicator of the club itself.

It depends on several factors.  Our club is small, only 19 members, but we are only 3 years old.  We are very open for new members.  If they are just a small club, they may not want to grow.  The only way you will find out is to contact the club.
