chobeegators Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Hello everyone. I am looking for a bass club in okeechobee. I know there are clubs that fish okeechobee but I'm looking for a local club so I don't have to travel much due to always working long hours. Quote

I don't want to make the trip in the future if I won't be able to enter because I don't have a bass boat. I hope some day to get one but this one is a great starter boat. Thanks again for the info and good luck on Sunday. Let me know how you do. Quote
Fishing Cowgirl Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Believe it or not, you can slide out right into the river outside the ox bow of Camp Mack and fish either end of the river, all the little cuts and both entrances. Hang to the side after the big boats leave and just start working the river either way, from Lake Kissimmee to Lake Hatchineha. Many, Many big bass have been caught right in those stretches. You might not be the first one to a spot, but you might be the one that gets the big bass's attention. We've fished behind many people and landed decent keeper bass. Last tournament, the Big Bass of the day was caught w/in 100yds of the entrance to the Marina. 8lber and with only 20 minutes left before weighin. People fish with all size boats, from small bass tracker types to the big boats. You can also get further up the creeks and cuts where the big girls hang out, than the heavier big boats. That is a great advantage! There is also a benefit tournament on the 25th out of Camp Mack, we are probably going to it. Its usually smaller amount of boats, goes for a good cause, lots of fun. There are flyers for it at Camp Mack, and probably a phone # for you to contact. **Plus wouldn't be great if you placed above alot of others who went blasting right past you?** Fishing is mostly mental, not the ride that got you there.
