Olebiker Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 My club's tournaments are all draw tournaments and you are not allowed to fish with the same member in a club tournament more than once in a year. A friend of mind said he didn't want to join my club because he didn't want to have to let other club members know where he catches his fish. I found this to be an interesting point of view since I joined a club to learn more about bass fishing and to learn how other guys did it. I would hate to think I had to fish with the same guy week in and week out. Quote
UPS VT Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Our club does just draw tournaments. We don't have a rule about fishing with the same member more than once though. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 26, 2009 Super User Posted February 26, 2009 Olebiker, The guy is a dummy. We fish together to learn. Baits, tackle, techniques and where to fish. If he wants to keep his secret places to himself and not expand his knowledge then let him fish alone. The fellowship is worth letting some guys know your honey holes. Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 My club does draws as well. The only rule regarding who you draw is that you can't have the same partner for two consecutive tournaments. Quote
southernyankee Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 it is a good point. My club has all draw tournaments but if we run out of non boaters you can go out alone. Any way, we lost a lot of members a few years ago because of one member "hole punching" my guys do not mind showing you a spot but they get ticked if at the next tournament the guy is camped out there, and I think guys who do that have no class.
