Red Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 i would like to join the local bass club here in waco, but apparently i need to find my own partner with a boat, cuz i dont have one! i am willing to split fuel costs and such, and i can back a trailer pretty good. anyone interested please PM me or just post here. membership is $30(one time, $15 now that season is half over.) then i think $40 for tournament plus $5 for big bass thanks Cliff Quote
JShrock07 Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Well I hope you find 1!!! Sorry I cannot help you, but if I'm ever in TX I'll take you out on mine! Quote
Red Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 thanks man!! its not lookin good actually, because i know NO ONE with a boat who would be interested in tourny/club fishing. oh well. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted July 8, 2008 Super User Posted July 8, 2008 Red, I wish I could help. Strange that a club would require you to have to locate a new member with a boat to join. You would think that the club would be responsible to put you in a boater's boat for each tournament. Quote
Red Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 yeah i was a bit surprised when i was told that. i always see them talking in another forum how they need more members, guess they dont need them too bad if they require you to find your own boater. oh well there is one guy(who i dont know) who is supposedly shopping for a boat and will be needing a partner once he buys, my name is in the hat for that one, so we will see i guess Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted July 8, 2008 Super User Posted July 8, 2008 Our club makes an effort to see that everyone that wants to fish is paired up with a boater. You might check around for another club in your area. Sounds like this one has a bunch of borther-in-lawing going on anyway. Not good for the health of the club in my opinion. Quote
Red Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 there is a couple out of belton, but that is a bit more driving than i am willing to do. this club claims they are for "the working man" or "weekend angler" and that they are very laid back. its not that big of a deal, i am not dying to get into a club, just thought it might be something fun to try, i have never fished a tournament. JShrock07 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I agree they are fun but very stressful if you haven't been on the body of water in a boat before. Hope everything works out! Quote
