brgbassmaster Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 just wondering what your guys favorite bait or baits are for the fall bite and how you fish them? mine is a spinnerbait i like to fish in coves up in any brush or rock usually i can find the fish schooled up in the coves feeding on shad. also points work really well for me. i also like to use topwater whether its buzzbaits or pop Rs anytime i see fish busting on bait fish thats what i like to use. or if i come across a point early in the morning that works really well to. try both the spinnerbait and the pop R. so ya just would like to get some perspective on what other people use. and i might pick up a few things for this fall. basspro48 Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 My top producers in the fall have been Bandit 100 series cranks and Lucky Craft Pointer 100's. I go up in the backs of creeks and mow that Bandit all over every piece of wood I can find and sling that pointer across every point I come to. However if I can get a good topwater bite going on a buzzer or G-Splash then I'd much rather do that. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted September 20, 2008 Super User Posted September 20, 2008 I have 3 that I use. Buzzbait in calm to mild wave action. Spinnerbait when the waves get too much for a buzz. Swim jig when it is rocking and rolling. Quote
Bass XL Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Crankbaits and spinnerbaits always seem to produce good numbers in the fall. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 21, 2008 Super User Posted September 21, 2008 Hmm... "Fishing" is fun and I like a lot of lures, but if were just about catching fish... GYCB Senko Fat Ika Micro Munch Tackle tube Floating Rapala Chug Bug Rat-L-Trap 8-) Quote
Joel W Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 for me it's a combination of Spinnerbaits, Crankbaits on the bottom or bouncing off of something, Rattle Traps, and hard Jerkbaits. I'm looking forward to some serious fall fishing after a summer of bottom bouncing. Quote
avid Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 nothing creative here. weightless senko's and ratLtraps rule the fall for me. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted September 21, 2008 Super User Posted September 21, 2008 For me, it's a crankbait or a spinnerbait. Falcon Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 21, 2008 Super User Posted September 21, 2008 I use the same baits year round with only minor changes; ROF (rate of fall) with bottom lures and speed/depth of retrieval for all others. Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Lately I've been doing well with shallow crankbaits, wakebaits, and trickworms. Quote
Willzx225 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Shallow crankbaits of some sort lipped or lip less and buzzbaits. I also like a jig or tube around shallow docks as well. Quote
brgbassmaster Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 thanks guys ya im thinking jigs cranks and spinnerbaits are going to be my best bet but im going to try some other stuff to. those are my favorite lures anyway. Quote
Jeremy D. Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Frogs, Buzzbaits, Spinnerbaits, Crankbaits, then if those dont work ill slow it and put it on the bottom! Quote
heathen Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Jerkbaits are probably my #1 fall bait. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted September 25, 2008 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted September 25, 2008 Frogs, frogs, and frogs. Nothing beats slinging a toad. Quote
catchnm Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I haven't thrown a jig all year yet, so it and a few pop-r, chug bug, and jerkbaits will get a work out soon. My favorite spring and fall bait is a crankbait though. 1-minus, Norman Fat Boys, Bandit 200's. Man I need to get on the water! Quote
