Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted September 22, 2008 Super User Posted September 22, 2008 That is kind of a vague question. It depends on what conditions you are facing and what the fish want and what you are trying to achieve. Cover/structure type, depth, water clarity, mood of the fish can all make a difference. I like the fact that you are thirsting for specific knowledge, but not sure how to answer this question.Nothing that you read or what we say can beat time and experience on the water. You may try scanning through the spinnerbait articles on here or better yet try ***. I learned almost everything I know from his in depth spinnerbait guidlines. 8-) Quote
Speed Worm Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 1. A blade 2. A hook (possibly 2) 3. Some sort of wire/lead confection 4. A skirt Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 What do you look for in a spinnerbait? :-? :-? The word "Terminator" on the package! Quote
kikstand454 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 i personally like a bait that swims upright everytime. EVERYTIME. terminator and booyah counterstrike seem to track true for me. thats about all i look for in a spnrbt. i think most other aspects are the same in most brands. a little more vibrationn here... a bit more toughness there....u can make a cheap wal-mart bait work great for a little while. terminator basically has it all for me. bmadd Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I look for a bait composed of a ball bearing swivel, a good, sharp, quality hook, a decent sized wire that will hold it's shape, and a quality rubber or silicone skirt. Once I have that, then I start looking for personal preferences. White/chartreuse/blue or plain white and plain chart. with a #4 silver willow and a #2 gold colorado. Quote

platinumjason Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Speaking of spinner baits, anyone use the Karu's or have a good suggestion as what brand to check? So far Terminator looks popular. I have good luck with black and white buzzbaits, being these two baits have a similar setup would it be safe to buy spinners on my experiece with buzzbaits or does color totally differ when venturing a few feet below the waters surface? Super User J Francho Posted September 24, 2008 Super User Posted September 24, 2008 There is a lot of subtlety in spinnerbait fishing, and without rewriting an article that's probably here or on ***'s site, some specificity will go a long way toward getting real help. Quote
