jerkin jimmy Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 * ANGLERS Currently seeking boaters and non-boaters to join our bass club for the 2008 season. * Anglers is a local bass club in the Woodbridge, VA, area. We're a member of Region 1, Virginia BASS Federation and the BASS National Federation. This provides our members the opportunity to qualify all the way to the BASS Masters Classic by fishing club, state and regional tournaments. Our club members represent a wide range of different backgrounds and personalities. The one thing we have in common is the love of bass fishing. We support each other by sharing information about what we know and learn from those around us. More importantly, we share our friendship! For the 2008 season we fish seven draw tournaments beginning in March and ending in October. The club conducts meetings the first Tuesday each month at Famous Dave's BBQ in Woodbridge at 7:30pm. We discuss any issues, upcoming events, and draw boat numbers and pairings for the next club tournament. Please call or email John Fravel for more information. jfravel3@yahoo.com Quote
SetNhooks Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 My name is George Hayn and I am an avid bass fisherman lookin to kick it up an notch. Been bass fishing for the past 4 years religiously...try to get on my local water(Lake Montclair) in my family's 12ft leakin Jon boat 4-5 days a week. On weekends I am on the water all day. Perfecting my skippin, flippin, pitchin, jiggin, carolina riggin, topwater/buzzin,drop-shottin (not the drinkin kind), jerkin(not what normal people think of), and slow rollin a spinnerbait. I try not to keep myself to fishin one style. Have been thinkin and searchin for local bass clubs in the area for the past winter months. I would be applyin for a non-boater position for now. I would appreciate any detailed information you could relay me....Take it easy...George Hayn III Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 19, 2008 Super User Posted February 19, 2008 Two new members! Gentlemen, Welcome aboard! 8-) Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 27, 2008 Super User Posted February 27, 2008 Gald to have you guys. If you really want new members how about walking around all the cars on I-95 and around the beltway in the AM and PM traffic as they sit there, not moving? Just kidding, but I do hate the Northern Virginia traffic. Have you contacted the Virginia Bass Federation to note the clubs in Northern Virginia and if the Region's director can help you secure more members? Quote
fishizzle Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Great pitch SetNHooks You'll do well in a club It gets addictive (its the rush when you put one in the well) There are lots of threads that you should read as a nonboater that may give you a better idea of what to expect Biggest thing is respect your boater. I fished with a guy that didn't want me to flip fish into the boat b/c he didn't want to get his carpet dirty on the Ranger. I bit my lip! Have fun and good luck Quote
