I've read and seen many teenagers looking for bass clubs in the Orange, Madison, Culpepper, Charlottesville area in Virginia. Kids or teens 11-18 years of age are able to participate in my school's angler program. Monthly and sometimes weekly we have tons of tournaments and even hold State tournaments to determine who will be at the top. For those who are interested in joining an angling program or club, contact Mrs. Gore in the website in my profile. We are more than happy if anyone is willing to join the club and be apart of the angler's program. Check the site out and decide if you want to join.

There are two age brackets:

11-14 is Jr Varsity and 15-18 in Varsity. For every tournament members from each bracket is recognized and the winners will be rewarded ribbons. We are a proud club of the B.A.S.S Federation, and we do tons of things including Sport Shows, Fund Raisers, statewide trips and tons of neat things! Anybody within that age bracket (11-18) is welcome!

If anyone has any questions or concerns following the club or etc. contact me or Mrs. Gore.

Thank you! 8-)

Thanks Bow!

For those who might be interested we are holding a booth at the Richmond Speedway's Bass A' Rama's sportsman show Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will personally be there Saturday all day long to help out my team, our club's president, Randy Beasley will also be there. If you check out our website, there's a calendar which states all our current and comming up events. For instance on the 4th of February, we are holding a tournament on the HOT SIDE of Lake Anna! Yes, the private site! Water temps will be at normal and the bass will hit all lures possibly!

If you want to attend that tournament, you should apply to the club. We have special permission to attend the tournament because our Bass Club leader Mrs. Becky Gore has contacts and Lake Anna is our home lake to fish. If you are interested in joining pop me a PM, Email, meet me Saturday at the Bass A' Rama or meet or email Mrs. Gore via email or at the Bass A' Rama as well.

This club is very enjoyable and there are many things to do to help out and there are plenty of benifits! The only thing that will probably get someone is the club membership fees (I collect due to I am the treasurer), which are $15 for being in the club and attending the local tournaments or $40 to attend the state wide tournaments which might bring you to the Jr. World Classic!

If you are interested in joining (I will repeat) you can email or pm me and I can email you a copy or fax a copy of the membership enrollment form to join, you can talk or email Mrs. Becky Gore herself so she can do it. I am looking forward to any replies, pms, emails or to see anyone there at the Bass A' Rama event. Just find the OCHS Jr. Angler booth at the Rama and look for me; My name is John Jones (name is on my team shirt which is a tan shirt) I will of course be wearing the B.A.S.S member's hat, the team shirt, khaki pant, or ask for me...

Looking forward to some members!! Would be more than happy to get more people into the club and meet you!  :D

God bless  8-)

John,

A tournament on the hot side of Anna?

I know for a fact that some of the locals are trying to stop private tournaments in their area.

So I am glad to hear you all are still allowed to launch and fish the hot side.

Your club sounds like a wonderful social group and I am very glad you have a successful organization.

Have you thought of contacting Bassmaster Magazine or Bass Times or FLW magazine so they can do an article on your club?  It could be an inspiration to others around the country to start their own high school fishing club.

Also, if you are interested in majoring in a fisheries major please remember to attend the Spotsy Mall college fair and ask the various schools about their marine majors.  William and Mary is Virginia's Sea Grant University.  But you can Google Sea Grant Universities to obtain the list of schools offering fisheries majors.

I know you guys love to fish but remember to keep those grades up so you can start a college fishing club.

We had permission from a local who had access to the dike 1 and let us fish out of there. I think it was a one time opportunity...I don't know...

But we do have articles in magazines, and we are known. We have a sportsman's show this weekend at the Fredericksburg Expo Center. I will be there tomorrow. We are sociable, Mr. Bill Deeds (boat captain for our club) came yesterday during our meeting and showed us how to make spinner-baits from scratch, so that was neat! I want to get me a mold, melting pot and spinner-bait components because I am excellent with spinner-baits.

The spinner-bait is my fav. along with soft plastics. I am thinking about taking Marine Biology in college and hopefully that will help my fishing.

I've got three A's and 1 B so far, it is a new semester so I know I have straight 100s now.

This club has less members than it had a few years ago, which is why I am trying to encourage new members who would like to join a bass club in Va, to join here, because after all we are well known and we do eat, sleep and dream fishing!  8-) ;D

Stephen Carr, our Vice President of the club is having a tournament down in Alabama on the 14th-18th. We are heading down there to support him, it is for the Jr. Classic.

God bless  8-)

Just to let everyone know in our area, we are holding a sportsman show at our highschool in the hornets sport center. If anyone is interested in attending or joining the club (like I said before) just pm me or email me for directions to the show.

The show will be going on Saturday, March 3rd from 9 am to 5pm, and Sun March 4th from 10 am to 4 pm. It is posted on our website (in my profile) and also on the SouthEast board.

As far as I know there will be over 90 vendors there, the trout pond will be there, casting kids event will be there, etc. Looking forward to seeing and meeting some folks from the board and hope you all have a great day!

TIGHT LINES!

God bless  8-)
