cgs2004 Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I was just curious if there were any other college anglers in here that fish in the CAST (Collegiate Angler Scholarship Tour) division of American Bass Anglers? I fish for Kansas State Univ. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted August 23, 2005 Super User Posted August 23, 2005 I wish we had a team here at KU. If it wasn't my last year I would look into starting one. Quote
cgs2004 Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Yea, it really is a great setup. Hopfully one will be started at KU eventually. Pitt st. and butler county recently started up teams. Quote
Will Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I am starting one at Hutch Community College, from people I have been talking to I think we might have a full team! cgs2004, what division in Kansas do you fish? Quote
bassdocktor Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Pretty soon I want to get one started at the University of Illinois at Chicago. However, it's my first year there so I'm trying to get settled in right now. I've done a bunch of research and talked to some other clubs so I have some good info. Hopefully it will turn out well. Cujo Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 man i wish i knew about that earlier. like KU_Bassmaster im in my last year. oh well Quote
cgs2004 Posted August 27, 2005 Author Posted August 27, 2005 The more teams the better! Univ. of Illinois-Urbana has a team. Cujo, I see your from Tennessee, Univ. of Tenn. has a team as well. Will- My home district is 61, but I also fish some tourneys in district 66 and 58. I try to fish Grand (district 65) once or twice a year as well. You have to pick a home district just for reference purposes but it doesn't mean you have to only fish those tourneys. Your points are based on your 4 best 1 day tourneys and your single best 2 day tourney combined from any amount of districts. Just if you all are interested, heres a link to a list of all the college teams as of the beginning of this season http://www.americanbassanglers.com/castschools.php Quote
Baylor_PhiDelt Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 baylor will be in it next year, im getting one started here and we have some pretty talented guys. Quote
cgs2004 Posted September 3, 2005 Author Posted September 3, 2005 Well cool! The more teams the better! Texas is a good place to be for competing in the ABA. You'll have tons of tournaments to choose from down there. Quote
bowjunkie35 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 This is great guys! I just joined ABA as a regular, but I must say that I am very impressed by the CAST program. Keep Fishing! Quote
cgs2004 Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Amen!! I'm going for my major in engineering but I'm also working on a minor in bass fishing. Quote

cgs2004 Posted September 28, 2005 Author Posted September 28, 2005 I believe they don't have one there yet. You should definatly start one there. You have lots of tournaments close by. Grand, Hudson, Eufaula, Tenkiller; not bad bass lakes! If you need any info about starting one let me know. Quote
bassdocktor Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Hey that waht I plan on doing at the University of Illinois at Chicago but I've been told by a few people that you may need to wait till the second semester. I guess they want you to get settled. And bixbybasspro send me a pm if you wanna talk about starting a club maybe we can compare and share info. bassdocktor Quote
bixbybasspro Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 bassdocktr, shoot me an email at paulporche@olp.net and my aim name is bixbybasspro. Quote
cgs2004 Posted October 16, 2005 Author Posted October 16, 2005 I don't think you have to wait until the 2nd semester. We just finished the 2005 season with the National Championship and 1 day tournaments for the 2006 season are already starting. I think you can start whenever you can get it all set up. The ABA offices will be very helpful to you. I believe they have an 1-800 number. Quote
bassdocktor Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 It's my college that wants you to wait till the second semester. Quote
