our bass club dues are a whopping $20 per year. This gets you a free t-shirt and if you make it to our classic it pays $3000 to the winner and theres no entry fees for people who qualify for our classic. We also have a banquet at the end of the year for members and their wives which is also free. At most of our travel tournaments we will have a cookout the night before which is free. Some of the funds to do all of this come from a portion of tournament  entries as well as yearly dues. Our bass club also gets a preferred rate on boat insurance which saves me about $75 per year. I dont see anyone in our bass club getting rich from dues. we have a treasurer and at the end of each year we take any money left over and use it for dock repairs etc. at one of the lakes we fish.Last year we put in a new sidewalk at our local lake. Money spent in a bass club is well spent.

Not only do we pay or $100 annual dues in our club but we have to be a member of B.A.S.S.

The $100 goes to help pay for our end of the year party; buying items to raffel off; helping to pay for our Six Man Team's expenses in that tournament; and postage.

Pay the dues with a big smile on your face as the money is used to help you have fun fishing different places and learning a lot about bass fishing.

It is well worth the small investment to obtain all the knowledge from the older club members.  My fishing techniques have improved greatly over the past year and it is due to talking and watching the other guys.

This is something money just can't buy.

Good luck.

I don't personally belong to a club but I've worked closely with 2 of them running events for kids and I must say that it is appealing.  There is a comeraderie(sp?) there that money can't buy.

They do great things in our community, some big, some small, but any positive contribution to society in these days and times is a value beyond money once again.  Like gamblers sidewalk, etc.  Kids and families will also benefit from this, not just club members.  For all we know, a serious accident may have been avoided there.

The current club that I am in is $50 a year. Our club tournaments are $25 each and part of that is used as funds towards our 6 man team event each year.

There is a wealth of information to be gained from being in a club.Fishing with different members really opens other doors to your fishing success. You get to see how the other guys catch fish and approach certain situations.

I was in the same club for 9 years and the last 2 or 3 were terrible.Nobody could get along, protest after protest, older members suspected of cheating,etc....glad that's over with. The new club I'm in seems to have a bunch of good guys.

My local club has dues of $20.00 and an optional $20.00 to fish in the Calcutta series.  We fish two tournament trails, the Calcutta is fished on local lakes and boaters and non-boaters compete in seperate categories for place and for Big Bass.  the club tournaments are a little further out and the whole competes for place and Big Bass regardless of boater/non-boater status.  We also have dock side pools that are optional ($5 for big stringer and $5 for big bass - big stringer pays out 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but big bass is winner takes all).  We also sponsor an Outdoor Flea Market each year and the proceeds, along with the club dues and a portion of the optional dock side pools is paid out to the place winners and Big Bass, based on a forumula.  The remainder of the club treasury is used to buy "door prizes" (rods, reels, combos, lures, etc.) that club members in good standing can claim based on a drawing at the annual banquet.  We pay our dues, but basically it is all returned to the members in some form and then we start all over again.

tho im not in a club, i probabally will join one next season.  the dues are like 85 bucks/year.

a:  i am a newbie bass angler, fishing with experianced guys would be priceless.

b:  My local bass club pairs boat and non boat owners(as i am not a boat owner...yet).  this is a great oppurtunity for me.

i give props to any angling club that promotes information sharing and tries to bring people into the sport.  Granted some of the clubs are a bit overly competitive for my taste....but there are all kinds out there.

Hummmm....Sounds all good.  NBAA is not so much as a club, unless each Division is Concidered a club.  Dues are $30 a year or $75 for three years and an extra $5 for a yearly family dues or $15 for the 3 year family dues.  Just incase your spouce or kids want to fish with you.  Tournament fees are $35 with an optional $5 big bass pot  for the weeknights, and $115 plus $10 for the optional big bass pot.

The Classics or Championships are free and so are the meals.  Paid through entry fees and dues.  We have two Classics, one for the Weeknight Divisions and one for the Weekend Divisions.  First place gets $3000 and a boat in both.  This next event will have a final tournamtn between the top 25 of the weeknight classic and the top 25 of the weekend classic.

They are also having a Classic just for the Division Directors.   Should be a lot of fun.

We just had our Kids Classic on the 21st, last Sunday.  23 kids ages from 2 - 16 with 4 age groups.  Non Profit program.  We gave each kid a full tackle-box rod, 2 reels, solar bat sunglasses, and shirts.  The winners of each group got nicer stuff.  Shimano Rods and Reels, Gamma line and  Hats, Tackle Bags and a free Pizza from Domino's.

We fed them with 10 Pizza's from Hungry Howies and Sam's Cola from Wal-Mart.  All in all was a great day.

All this and NO COST to the families.  With each county holding four summer time events.  Adding two more counties next year.  I just hope Moose Tracks Ice Cream will give me more shirts....lol

I'd love to belong to a club here in the Richmond Va area, but just don't have the time as I manage a Mcdonalds practically 6 days a week. I'm also a non-boater and I hear horror stories about how they're treated.

Southern, I am in a Richmond bass club.

We meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month.

We fish one tournament each month.

I know you are extremely busy as a McDonald's manager, especially with the types of individuals you have to hire in the Richmond area, but let me know if you have the time to join.

There are also clubs all over the geographical Richmond area so you can have a choice of which club to join.  I can give you more information when I get the next month's Tight Lines publication.

Hey, I appreciate that Sam. I'll definately take a look and talk things over with my bosses as far as flexability is concerned. How far away from the area do you guys fish?
