Landis76 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 The Lawrence Bass Club needs non-boaters. Anyone interested? Quote
huskertko Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Sorry got a little quick on the post button. :-[ I live in Olathe, and just started fishing again after several years, but i am jumping head first so to speak. I just asked this question in the tournament forum this morning, i was interested in getting into tournament fishing but i have no boat. Give me some details on the club, if you don't mind. Quote
Landis76 Posted May 21, 2005 Author Posted May 21, 2005 If you have no boat and you are just getting back into fishing, this could be a good learning experience. I joined another club about 3 years ago and my life was changed because of how much I learned to love bass fishing. It's not too expensive either. You pay for all the tournaments left in the season as soon as you join the club. For example, when I joined, they had only done one tournament so I had to pay $100 upfront for the rest of the season. We have the third tournament tomorrow so the fee will be less than $100. Non-boater fees for gas are decided before each tournament. Boaters fish against boaters and non-boaters fish against non-boaters. Our monthly meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at Kaspars in Lawrence. After you join, they send out monthly newsletters. The best part is we get to fish some pretty cool lakes like Truman, Smithville and Pomme. It's a great opportunity to learn and not fish off the shore. ;D Feel free to call me with any questions 785-917-9073 or you can just show up to the meeting here at Kaspars on the first Tuesday next month. Hope that helps. Quote
