Will Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Maybe some hand built crankbaits. Here is one company http://carolinachip.home.comcast.net/Carolina_Chips.htm Quote
earthworm77 Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Take a look at Stamina. They have a couple of rat l trap type baits painted red/white/blue with united we stand slogans. Red and Blue hooks. About 2.99ea. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 18, 2005 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 18, 2005 If you're looking for novelty lures, look at http://www.bottlecaplure.com/home.html Kinda fun, although I think these guys take themselves too seriously. Quote
Nick_Barr Posted February 3, 2005 Author Posted February 3, 2005 Anymore crazy ideas for a novelty lure? Quote
catbird48 Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 budweiser can with two treble hooks on it,or icehouse, coors, miller highlife, whatever. got to run catbird48 Quote
chad km5qf Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 You know where I can still find the budweiser can lures? As long as reasonably prices ill get some more. Dont laugh, those things catch fish! Quote
squid Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 You can make those lures really cheap too. Just ask a bar owner to save the caps for you. You can get over a hundred in one night...lol Then buy all the other things you will need to make them into lures, like O rings, some kind of metal hole punch, treble hooks and you are in like flint. Yes they do catch fish too. Catbird...remember, this is a Youth Angler trying to find inventive ways to make money for a club fundraiser. Without coming out of pocket as much as possible. Quote
chad km5qf Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 thanks squid, i used to use one of those bud can baits and caught a lot of fish on it till a gar decided it wanted it more than i did. my "go to" baits are torpedoes anyway so the bud can isnt far removed. i saw an ad this morning for a bottle cap bait, i have a hunch u think thats what im talkin about. nope. the bud can bait im refereing to is a miniature beer can, plastic, about the size/ dimensions of a torpedo but shaped just like a beer can. perfect replica of a budweiser. ya fish the thing like a cross tween a t'pedo and a hula popper. neat conversation piece, even neater when it actually catches fish. flippnfish Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 I have seen alot of Rat-L-Traps painted with Alabama and Auburn on them. You might check with them and see what they will charge to do something like that for you. Quote
