I am working the Pure Fishing booth at the 100th Boy Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia and I spoke with the Pure Fishing guy who is handling the Pure Fishing booth and fishing tub.

He told me that he is a college graduate who spent nine years in marketing after graduation and prior to going with Pure Fishing.

He said Pure Fishing contacted him after they saw his resume on the web.

His boss and his boss' boss were in attendance today and they are super guys. Very smart and personable and they made you feel like part of the Pure Fishing family.  If you did not know they were high ranking executives you would think they were just regular guys.

Pure Fishing has independent departments. We are working for the marketing department. The other departments do their own thing and hire their own personnel based on their needs.

For example, Dr. Keith Jones does his scientific research and has a team who goes out and tests various baits and scents via fishing.

So if you want to work in the fishing industry you need to:

1.  Get your college degree.

2.  Work in marketing or scientific research for a number of years.

3.  Put your resume on the web, even if you have to go through a head hunter.

4.  Just wait for an opening.

Just thought you guys would like to have this information for future reference.  :)
