Interested in submitting a Pro-Staff Resume to them this year and can find the Address or any contact info for them anywhere...Can anyone help me out ???? How hard did you look for their contact information??? You may want to send your info to Fish Harder Companies , it appears that either Tim Norman or the man himself Dan Vesuvio are the decsion makers from the five minutes it took me to look up the information. If someone has some inside information that will be even better. Just don't send your cover letter and resume "To whom it may concern" Good Luck Quote
etommy28 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Tom Branch is in charge of the Fish Harder companies Pro Staff. Quote

Interested in submitting a Pro-Staff Resume to them this year and can find the Address or any contact info for them anywhere...Can anyone help me out ???? Don't even waste your time man. Unfortunately, me and many others had a massive fallout with them. I don't want to post details, but many of the people on this forum or any other forum with TT in their signature are being low balled. Pretty much anyone can get on board with them now, because they totally restructured their "pro-staff" plan, where as it used to be a legitimate program that rewarded both parties for hard work. Now it's like ESOX rods patch pirate program. So if you feel like being taken advantage of, send emails to Tim, Dan, and Tom Jr. Good luck my friend. Quote
etommy28 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 while i can see that senco feels that some one did something wrong. I tend to disagree, they have been nothing but great to me. so I would say if your interested contact them. Quote

It is pretty said how that stuff is happening more and more. My favorite "pro staff" programs are the ones you buy into. ;D For example that Secret Weapon Lures, you have to be "familiar with" their products so you have to buy a "Prostaff starter kit" which is like $50 then you receive 30% off your purchases. lol Field staff get a whopping 15% off products. I had three friends of mine get pretty much sucked into this crap a few years ago and tried to get me on board. I pretty much called them dumb-***** and laughed. It seems like most sponsorship deals are becoming nothing but small individual sales for the company. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 17, 2010 Super User Posted February 17, 2010 Tin, i totally agree with you. Some of the prostaff deals are nothing but a chance to sell their product. If you wait for the spring sales you often receive a deeper discount on the merchandise that the original prostaff deal offers. Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 17, 2010 Super User Posted February 17, 2010 Yup It is amazing what Pro-Staff "deals" include these days. For example, I know of one guy who works 5 to 6 shows around the region in the winter, does writting for a company, and recieves a 30% off baits that cost all of about $0.50 to make and sell for $14 each. It is a joke. But hey, good for the companies taking advantage of this "everyone wants a sponsor" craze to show they are better than the next guy. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 17, 2010 Super User Posted February 17, 2010 30-40% is the standard guide discount. No sponsor needed. I think its important to understand the difference between simply using stuff, doing a couple of talks, and actually fulfilling the angler's end of a sponsorship by selling the product. That means converting someone you talk to into a retail customer. Pretty much what I think Senko was talking about. The "new" model is to overprice your stuff, offer a seemingly good discount to "pro staffers" making them post all over the internet forums. Where would some of these companies be without internet forums? Quote

I've been sponsored by them for 3 years and nothing has gone wrong. Quote
JohnnyBigger Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 When you are sponsored through tru tungston, what is the deal that they give, I have never been sponsored but I would like to look into it over the next couple of years Quote
etommy28 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 they have multiple levels so it rally depends Quote
JohnnyBigger Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I realize I may be sounding dumb but just starting doing local club tourney's and maybe a BFL tourney or two. What should I expect from them from them if they will sponsor me? Quote
senko_77 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Tommy and EasternPA, I would love to hear the deals you have. And Tommy, be honest. I don't know you so I'm not saying your gonna lie or not, I just happen to know exactly the deal they offer the guys involved with college tournaments, so just know that it would be pointless to make it look like your not getting low balled since I already know what they do. I was with them for around 3 years then left because of the horrendous offer I was given. It was a straight slap in the face to me and some real close friends of mine who are real talented and sell TT's product better than anyone I know. The only sponsorships I agree to have are ones which have products I truly believe in and I don't have a limit on what I can get. That is why I'm so selective on who gets my representation. I also don't go to companies asking either. When they come to me, I have the upper hand in starting negotiations. Quote

They started out with a program that I loved and would benefit both of us. They ended up creating an unfair, and in my opinion, unstructured program. I left the Fish Harder Co. about the same time Ryan did, and we had talked about it. It's just a crumby set up on their part. Unless they offer me some ridiculous deal that I could not pass up, I will stay way. Quote

Senco with all do respect, you have got to get your facts straight! yes I fish the college tournaments, but I am a regional pro staffer, not a collegiate(as I was last year and your right its not a real good deal) how ever the regional pro staffer is much better. Also while i went to them in the past, they came to me this year. so please make sure you know the facts in the future. Hint: in my pic I have an FGCU Jersey on but im at the SOUTHERN OPEN at okeechobee, not a collegiate tourny. Quote

I didn't say the thing about them coming to me as an insult to you. I was just letting everyone know I'm not a sponsor sleeper/patch pirate. A lot of guys our age do anything for "sponsors" so I was just making it clear how I go about my business, not accusing you of approaching everyone in sight. I've been extremely blessed to have the support and opportunity to represent the companies I do, I just really hate to see a company like Fish Harder Co. take advantage of the young and uneducated....but I guess that's business. Hope everything continues well with Tru-Tungsten Quote
etommy28 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 man thats cool. and I agree with what you say most the time. however I did go to Tru tungsten orginally, with the backing of a couple of the elites series Pro staffers. Your right though alot of people our age just want the name on there jersey and dont plan to work for them. that not me but is some of the guys in my club which is why I get personal sponsors and not club ones. Your right there tommy, Most junior prostaffers dont want to work with them, they just want free stuff. I have been giving them some publicity lately. I have been on a TV show, I've been telling people about their products, and I'm always trying to promote the companies I represent. The only problem I have with tru tungsten is, Tom hasn't answered me when I sent him my order form. But, I'm always looking for companies to represent to make their sales rate go up or make sure they are heard. Quote
J_Pearson Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Although off-topic in a sense, after reading this topic I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the information shared on this forum from very intelligent anglers. I understand there is a great deal of information that cannot be shared by pro-staffers due to contracts, but thank you guys for sharing what you can to help inspiring anglers such as myself. Keep up the great work guys. JP Quote
Super User David P Posted March 2, 2010 Super User Posted March 2, 2010 I was offered a deal with them last year that I ended up turning away from . I'm unfamiliar with the previous deals that Senko and Bass XL had with them, but I didn't feel as though the deal was "worth it". Having said that, Tom Branch Jr was very nice, great with communicating, and seemingly had a good grasp on things. For anyone looking for an entry level staff position, I would say go for it, if you think the deal that you are offered is worth it. Quote
