As you can probably tell I am looking for a career in fisheries. I have been researching the salaries for these jobs but can't seem to find any solid information. If anyone has any info about fishing jobs such as working for a fishery, lure rep, and any others and the salaries of these jobs as well as obtaining them then please let me know or let me know a website that might help me. Thanks.

This probably wont help much, but every place is different.  One company may pay more for the same job description as a competetor.  Work hard, and qualify yourself in everyway possible to land your dream job.

tmacdaddy055, I have some questions for you since you posted a link to the AFS.

Are you a member of the AFS?

How did you find out about the AFS, were you recruited at the university?

What is your opinion of their guideline for uses of fish in research, and it's relation to

the act of sportfishing?

What is your opinion of their extensive mission statement, and it's relation to the act

of sportfishing?

I am a biologist in the private sector. The president of the company used to be a member

of the AFS when he worked for a private laboratory. It seems much has changed since

then, so I wanted your opinion.

Lane, sorry about taking so long I havent checked this section for a while, about the AFS, I have only been in school for a few weeks now so I have not had time to join the club, but yes we can join through the school and the fisheries club at our first meeting I just didn't have the cash with me but I plan to do so next tuesday at our meeting.  So to be honest with you I am not really that sure about what their guidelines state, so I don't think as of right now my opinions would be very educated.  BTW what state are you in?

Macdaddy, I live in Texas. In addition to your studies, are you an angler?

Bob Lusk of Pond Boss, is a biologist that does alot of private consulting

on set up and management of private ponds and lakes all over the US.

That industry is really growing, and seems to be lucrative. Something to consider!

Let me know if I can be of any help.
