I recently emailed a couple of local and not local tackle companies inquiring on some decals to put on my boat to show some support. I received many decals and patches from these companies but just recently I received an email stating that someone from the prostaff will be in contact with me. I have never been sponsored before and I was wondering what the next step is going to be. I know there is a lot of stuff on here about this but nothing really explains to me what I need to do. It would be nice to have a sponsor but I am more into fishing then trying to find sponsors. However if they are putting it out there then I will be more then happy to except the offer. I know everyone is more then willing to give some input so throw it at me.

The people that sent you decals and other stuff....Do you use their products and are you able to effectively tell and sell them to others?

Do you know what will be expected of you and what they want to see in return (more specific results than "Hey, I saw your company on this guy's boat...)?

Are you ready to do those things, basically turning your "activity" into a job?

I only sent emails out to companies that I use often and I trust their products.

As for the "JOB" part.... I work enough as it is but if they can help pay the way for my fishing habits then by all means I can do my best to sell their product.

I just don't know everything that I will have to do.

Really, I just wanted to help you with questions.

I am not sponsored by anyone, never have been.  The only "free" stuff I have ever received has been from sponsors on this site.

Make sure expectations are clear on both sides before agreeing to ANYTHING.

This could go several ways.  It may just be that someone from the Pro staff will contact you about how well you like their products, kind of a courtesy call to make sure you got what you asked for.  It may also be that they see you showing some interest and would not mind asking you to showcase their products and get others to buy them.  Sometimes good people are treated how they should be and maybe this is just going to be one of those times.  Your email might have just set right with the guy/gal behind the computer and maybe he/she wants to see if there can be something more made of it from a company point of view.  It never hurts to listen, ask questions, and then think about anything they might offer.   ;)

Thank You, I really just need to know what all I am supposed to be telling the people that emailed me about their product. They asked me if I had a resume.... (I don't have one, and have no clue what to put in one) I do have questions but I'll ask them one at a time so I can  get them all answered by numerous people.

Sounds like they are recruiting promotional staff members.
